2 About 4 Youth When young people arrive at 4 Youth, a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization that provides pathways to end youth homelessness in the North Metro suburbs of the Twin Cities, most are in need of a supportive community that understands what they face each day and can equip them with the tools that they need to move past their status of homelessness. 4 Youth is that place! In 2017, 446 unduplicated youth experiencing homelessness walked through 4 Youth's Drop-In Center doors 4,087 times. We were able to provide these young people with hot meals, hot showers, clothing, food and hygiene products, laundry facilities, computer and internet access, locked storage for personal items, and case management. We also met the health needs of the youth at our on-site clinic, Clinic, as well as the needs of new moms through 4 New Moms, including diapers and formula. We helped 34 young people secure housing through our NEW Housing Navigation program and housed an additional 16 youth at Place, our NEW transitional housing facility, as well as another 103 in short-term housing through our local shelter partners. We assisted homeless young people with employment and educational opportunities, including interview skills, looking and applying for jobs, finishing high school or obtaining their GED, as well as working with our partner, the Anoka County Workforce Center, on career pathways and educational opportunities. We offered a spiritually-based program to the youth who are looking for one, through TreeHouse. And, we provided basic resources and referrals to 266 homeless young people through outreach on the streets and in schools. In 2018, we continue to grow our programs, expanding into new opportunities and in new locations for homeless youth. 4 Youth, in partnership with the St. Cloud area Rotary Clubs, opened Pathways 4 Youth, a Youth Opportunity Center for homeless young people in St. Cloud that is a replication of our Drop-In Center in Anoka. At Pathways 4 Youth, we provide the staff and programming and assist in all aspects of providing assistance to the homeless youth. 4 Youth also created a new revenue source by opening hope s closet. hope s closet is a resale boutique filled with handpicked, quality, new and gently-used men s and women s clothing, shoes and accessories, small household decor and gift items. 100% of the profit benefits 4 Youth programs. 4 Youth is not just an organization working to end youth homelessness. We are part of a community that is working to end youth homelessness. And we are going to end it working together!
