About The was created in 2007 by 3 Seattle Ballardites who wanted to run on Thanksgiving morning in an attempt to counteract the large quantities of food that would be consumed later in the day.

2 About The was created in 2007 by 3 Seattle Ballardites who wanted to run on Thanksgiving morning in an attempt to counteract the large quantities of food that would be consumed later in the day. A scenic course was chosen, friends and family were invited to join, and 30 people showed up to run that inaugural year. The next year, 200 people showed up, and the extra money raised was donated to the Ballard Food Bank. Since then, the Ballard Food Bank has been instrumental in organizing and handling the yearly run, and all proceeds raised go directly to the Food Bank to help provide food and hope to our neighbors. Ballard Food Bank is a non-profit organization serving neighbors in Ballard, Magnolia, and Queen Anne. Ballard Food Bank s mission is to bring food and hope to our neighbors...because there can be enough for everyone. To achieve our mission, we provide access to nutritious foods and services that support self-sufficiency through our food bank, home delivery, and weekend food for kids program, as well as emergency financial assistance.
