In the FTIR spectrum of trimesic acid, the weak bands between cm -1 shoulde be assigned to O-H stretching of carboxy groups, and the bands of carboxy groups at 1688 and 1262 cm -1 are assigned to C=O stretching and C-O stretching, respectively. The three bands at 1607, 1454, and 1400 cm -1 are attributed to characteristic vibrations of benzene groups. 6
