1 ELBOW - 1 FLEXION: ROM (Supine / Sitting) Position (A) Patient: Place arm against side of trunk. Helper: Hold elbow to stabilize. (B) - Lift hand toward shoulder, palm up. - Keep wrist straight. Do sessions per day. Resist seconds. (see card ELBOW - 7 Extension: Stretch Forearm Extensors (Sitting) Position Helper: Support arm at elbow. - Helper bends wrist down gently and folds fingers into fist. - Then straighten elbow fully. Do not force Hold seconds. Repeat times. Repeat with other arm. Do sessions per day. Variation: Bend wrist down and in direction of little finger during motion. Page 1 of 6

Helper: Place hand on upper arm to stabilize. - Cue patient to turn forearm so palm faces down. - Helper resists throughout motion with hand on palm side of forearm. - Elbow remains in place. Hold seconds. Relax. ELBOW - 14 Supination: ROM (Sitting) Position (A) Helper: Bend elbow to 90. Hold arm at side with thumb up. (B) - Turn forearm so palm faces up. Do not push into elbow joint. Hold seconds. Variation: Contract method: Resist seconds. (see card Page 2 of 6

Perform with wrist bent back to. FINGER - 15 Extension: ROM Position (A) Helper: Stabilize hand near wrist. Support fingers at tips. (B) - Straighten fingers fully. - Helper assists by guiding all fingers straight. Do not force movement. Variation: Perform with wrist bent back to. Perform with wrist flexed toward palm. (B) - Bring elbow back gently. Do not force motion if painful. Hold seconds. (see card SHOULDER - 10 Abduction: ROM (Sitting) Position (A) Helper: Bend your knees to reach for arm. - Keep thumb pointed in direction of movement. - Lift arm out to side. 6 SHOULDER - 12 Horizontal Abduction / Adduction: ROM (Sitting) Position Helper: Hold arm with both hands. Do not twist your back, move feet. - Lift arm out to side, level with shoulder. (A) - Bring across to opposite side. (B) - Patient's trunk must not twist. Resist seconds. (see card G.G.-14) TRUNK - 14 Rotation: ROM (Sitting) Position Patient: Sit with buttocks firmly in place. Helper: Place one hand behind shoulder blade, other hand in front of opposite shoulder near collarbone. - Gently turn to side by twisting at waist. - Stop at point of tension or discomfort. Repeat in other direction. Resist seconds. (see card Page 6 of 6
