1 1891 Preston White Drive Reston, VA The Society for Pediatric Radiology Ph: (703) Founded 1958 Re: 11th SPR HANDS-ON COURSE ON PEDIATRIC CARDIOVASCULAR MR The Society for Pediatric Radiology (SPR) and the Hospital for Sick Children (HSC) in Toronto, Canada are pleased to announce the 11th SPR Hands-on Course on Pediatric Cardiovascular MR. Organized by the Departments of Diagnostic Imaging and the Labatt Family Heart Centre at the Hospital for Sick Children and the Children s Hospital & Research Center Oakland, the Symposium will be held in the Hospital for Sick Children in Toronto, November 5-7, During this three-day intensive course we will review the necessary basic knowledge in heart disease in children and illustrate the practical use of MR for morphologic, functional and hemodynamic evaluation. Please click on the link for a detailed preliminary program consisting of didactic lectures, free-form discussion sessions, and interactive MR scanning and hands-on post processing sessions. At the completion of the course, the attendees should feel confident in initiating a cardiovascular MR program at their respective institutions to support the increasing demands for cardiovascular MR imaging in recent years. In addition, through this symposium, the organizers hope to create a communication and support network for radiologists and cardiologists pertaining to issues in the clinical practice of cardiovascular imaging. Attendance will be limited to 15 people to ensure ample opportunity for hands-on experience and discussions. Please complete and mail the enclosed application form postmarked by June 30th, Priority will be given to the radiologists and cardiologists who are primarily responsible for cardiac imaging in their departments. The application form needs to be accompanied by a supporting letter from the department chief. We encourage interested departments to sponsor one pediatric radiologist and/or cardiologist to attend. Acceptance will be communicated on or before July 15 th, All registrants are automatically registered for the 9 th Symposium on Advanced Pediatric Cardiovascular Imaging that will be held also at HSC on November 8-10, 2013, immediately following this course. All participants for the 11 th 11th SPR Hands-on Course are required to attend the advanced course. No additional registration fee for the advanced symposium is required.
