2 Credit Wake AHEC designates this live activity for a maximum of 3.5 AMA PRA Category 1 Credits. Physicians should claim only the credit commensurate with the extent of their participation in the activity. Wake AHEC will provide 0.4 CEU to participants upon completion of this activity. Partial credit will not be awarded. Wake AHEC will provide up to 3.5 Contact Hours to participants. NCBPTE: Wake AHEC is a pre-approved provider for NCBPTE Continuing Competence Activities. This activity is 3.5 hours. Other health professionals will receive Wake AHEC CEU and a certificate of attendance from an AMA PRA Category 1 Credit activity. These certificates are accepted by the North Carolina Boards for physician assistants, nurse practitioners, nurses, physical and occupational therapists and athletic trainers. License requirements are subject to change. Wake AHEC recommends that participants contact their licensing boards for specific questions. This activity has been planned and implemented in accordance with the accreditation requirements and policies of the North Carolina Medical Society (NCMS) through the joint providership of Wake Area Health Education Center and Thomas B. Dameron, Jr. Foundation for Orthopaedic Education. The Wake Area Health Education Center is accredited by the NCMS to provide continuing medical education for physicians. Wake AHEC is part of the North Carolina AHEC Program. Registration Early Fee $60; Regular fee $75 after January 20, Pre-registration is required by Friday, January 26, Vouchers will be accepted. 3 The purpose of the 25th Annual Dameron Lectureship in Orthopaedics is to update clinical knowledge of musculoskeletal conditions for the primary care provider. This session content will be practical and immediately useful in the office while caring for patients with musculoskeletal issues. Target Audience Physicians in Internal Medicine, Family Practice and Pediatrics, Advanced Practice Providers, Nurses, Occupational and Physical Therapists Objectives At the conclusion of this competence-based activity, participants should be able to: Differentiate between rotator cuff tears, shoulder bursitis and osteoarthritis of the shoulder. Develop an accurate differential diagnosis of knee pain in the young and older patient. Identify non-arthritic causes of hip pain in the young and middle-aged patient. Review different non-operative and operative management options for hip and knee osteoarthritis. Discuss the diagnosis, prevention and initial management of osteoporosis. Discuss biologic interventions for osteoarthritis. Expand the management of concussions. Review techniques for commonly performed injections for musculoskeletal disease.
