Methods: A smple of 359 Portuguese dolescents, oth mle nd femle, ws evluted using the Mentl Helth Inventory nd the Socil Provisions Scle. Results: The provision of oth intimte nd csul support ssocites to more often experiencing positive emotions nd less often experiencing negtive emotions. Importnt gender differences were found. Girls need close, intimte nd emotionlly secure reltionships to feel clm, hppy nd t pece, nd they look for others ressurnce of their personl vlue to less often feel sd, worried or depressed. For oys, this ressurnce is the most importnt for experience positive emotions, while felling closely ttched to others only keeps off experiencing negtive emotions. Conclusions: Boys nd girls my look for nd need different provisions from their socil groups, concurring with the literture sying tht oys nd girls vlue different spects of their interperosnl reltionships. Methods: Within pulic helth reporting 2012 in the Austrin province Burgenlnd quntittive survey ccording to the HBSC-study ws creted. Prents of children in ten kindergrden nd 13 primry schools in the district of Oerwrt were sked out helth sttus nd ehviour of their kids (n = 552). Becuse of externl ssessment (prents) methodicl limittions hve to e considered. Results: Results concerning helth ehviour show tht only 35% of prents sy tht their children re t lest 60 minutes physiclly ctive every dy. Findings relted to nutrition indicte tht ccording to prents only 27% et vegetles dily while nerly hlf of them consume sweets t lest once dy. The results show tht helthy eting ptterns correlte positively with eductionl ckground. Conclusions: This study closed dt gp concerning helth sttus nd ehviour of children t the ge of three to ten yers nd enles restricted comprisons with results of the HBSC-study. In future further reserch concerning helth ehviour of young children in whole Austri is needed to promote helth effectively. Methods: In 2011 the FH Burgenlnd crried out quntittive online-survey. The ÖSES.q07, in which drinking hits of Austrin dults hve een nlysed, ws chosen s reference study. Ntionl Results: 60% of prticipting pupils (n = 114) rech the recommended mount of liquid intke ( litres of wter per dy) or drink even more. 35% cover more thn 75% of their dily liquid intke with wter. Fvourite drinks of pupils nd students re fruit juice with wter (33%), coffee (29%) nd ice te (29%). Conclusions: Pupils hve to e motivted to py ttention to helthy drinking hits. To ensure sustinility circumstnce-oriented with low-crohydrte drinks s well s wreness cmpigns re necessry. Tthere hs een reserch on the effects of institutionliztion ut there re few studies on how environmentl deprivtion ffects sensory processing. Methods: This is descriptive study, univried-multivrite is with control group, with non-proility convenience smple of 138 children (5 nd 10 yers). The evlution protocol includes Processing Mesure (Prhm et l 2007) nd the Prentl Stress Index (Aidin, 1995). Results: We found tht the children who re in institutions hve sensory processing development, within the rnge considered typicl except in Emotionl Rection, in the inttention nd distrctiility. Regrding sensory function children who re in institutions showed typicl ehviourl on most home context vriles, except for Socil Prticiption. In the clss context, children hve likely differences in most scles, except in Socil Prticiption, Touch, Plnning nd Ides. With respect to the stress index in child-cregiver reltionship, children who re in institutions hve n index within the norml stndrds, except for Acceptility, Reinforce, Attchment nd Roles Restriction. Conclusions: Compred with children who re in their fmilies of origin, it ws found tht, of sensory processing, sensory functioning in home nd clss context oth t the level of stress index in child-cregiver reltionship vlues otined show tht there re differences in some res ut not in its entirety. LONG-TERM TRENDS IN TOBACCO SMOKING AND PHYSICAL INACTIVITY AMONG SIBERIAN ADOLESCENTS: A POPULATION-BASED STUDY ( ) Din Denisov, Lris Zvylov Institute of Internl Medicine of SB RAMS. Novosiirsk. Ojectives: To ssess trends in smoking nd physicl inctivity mong dolescents in Methods: Six cross-sectionl surveys of representtive smples of school children ged in 1989, 1994, 1999, 2003, 2009 nd 2012 were crried out in Novosiirsk. Totl smple ws Self-reported smoking (1 cig/week nd more), low physicl ctivity (2 h/week of exercises nd less) nd sedentry ehvior (weekly screen time) were otined. Results: During the prevlence of regulr smoking mong oys declined from 45 to 18%, mong girls - from 19 to 13%. Averge mount of cigrettes per week in girls-smokers significntly incresed since 1989, in oys it did not chnge. Adolescents-smokers registered twice more often in smoking fmilies thn in non-smoking fmilies: 65% vs 35%. Among dolescent oys significnt ssocitions etween smoking nd high-density lipoprotein cholesterol were reveled. Levels of low physicl ctivity were stly high during the period in oys (49-55%) nd girls (83-73%). Leisure-time physicl ctivity of dolescents rpidly declined during the computer er. In 2009 verge mounts of weekly screen time (computer gmes, Internet, TV, video) were 18 hours in oys nd 15 hours in girls. Physicl inctivity rtes were higher in smokers (P < 0.05). Conclusions: The dt indicte on trends to decline in smoking mong Sierin dolescents. However, stly high levels of physicl inctivity nd rising prevlence of sedentry ehvior ptterns specify minstrem of prevention mong youth genertion.

Ojectives: To essess the impct of comined rdiologicl nd psychologicl stressors on mentl helth of the school children in Chernoyl trce regions. Methods: This is cross-sectionl quntittive descriptive nd cross-correlted study with smple of 327 school children t the ge of 6-7 nd 10-11yers living in Chernoyl trce regions of Russi. It ws compred to contrl group of 154 children from uncontminted res. The exmintion included clinicl psychologicl investigtion, intellectul ssessment, nd ECG-testing of children. Results: We found reltive increse in psychologicl impirment in the exposed group compred with the contrl group, with incresed prevlnce in cses of intellectul working incpcity (p > 0.01) nd emotionl disorders (p > 0.05). The IQ level of children ws reltively equl in oth smples. The ECG-results in the exposed group. We noticed positive moderte correltion etween IQ of children, intellectul working cpcity nd emotion stility. Conclusions: Comined rdition nd psychologicl environmentl stresses re suggested s excerting the initition nd/or intencity of emotionl disorders of the chool children. Ojectives: The present study imed to nlyze the implictions of positive nd lnced eductionl reltionship, focusing on the promotion of personl nd socil skills, while protective fctors nd resilience of children living in residentil institutions. Methods: We constructed nd vlidted questionnire dministered to 43 techers from Primry School who tech in clssrooms with children who live in foster homes. It ws lso pplied socio-demogrphic questionnire nd the Helthy Kids Resilience Assessment Module (dpted y Mrtins, 2005) to smple of students who live in institutions nd ttending the 3 rd nd 4 th grde (N = 27). Results: The results show tht techers implement strtegies to promote the development of personl nd socil skills in these students, ut simultneously they negtively evlute their cpcities for resilience. However, when compring the dt otined from the techers, with the result of the ppliction of the Resilience Scle directly to students, it ppers tht the informtion gthered suggests tht these students re developing nd setcks tht life rings. Ojectives: To nlyze the specific themes emerging from children s concepts out helth. Methods: This is mixed (qulittive nd quntittive) study with smple of 175 school children ged 9 to 12.Prticipnts were sked to write wht it ment to them to e helthy. A ctegory system previously vlidted (inter-rter greement of 93%) ws used to exmine the structure of children s helth concepts long 5 ctegories. Results: Bsed on content nlysis, totl of 625 descriptive units were derived from children s writings nd coded. The most frequently used ctegories to define helth were enggement in preventive ctivities (51%) nd positive feelings (21.6%). Moreover results reveled the reltive importnce of the vrious su-themes within ech ctegory, llowing more comprehensive understnding of children s concepts of helth. Conclusions: Glolly children provided complex nd holistic definitions of helth, including, in ddition to physicl nd ehviorl spects, descriptors of psychologicl well-eing. The results re useful for the development of helth eduction progrms y evidencing the importnce of including psychosocil dimensions. In ddition the results llow helth professionls to djust interventions to the views previously held y children. The evlution protocol includes sociodemogrphic nd sustnce consumption questionnire, the Self-Injury Questionnire-Tretment Relted (Cles & Vndereycken, 2007), the Brief Symptom Inventory (Derogtis, 1982), Socil Support Stisfction Scle (Pis-Rieiro, 1999) nd the Emotionl Skills nd Competence Questionnire (Tksic, 2000). Results: The prevlence of most risk ehviors in the overweight community group nd in the overweight clinicl group ws similr or even lower thn their helthy weight peers. Mle gender, non-tretment for weight control, higher psychopthology, less ility to regulte emotions, lower fmily support nd higher intimte support predict, t lest, one of the three studied risk ehviors. Conclusions: Overweight dolescents re not necessrily t incresed risk of self-injury or of consuming lcohol/tocco. Other vriles relted to outptient tretment for weight control, psychopthology, socil support, nd emotionl skills re more closely linked to sustnce consumption or self-injurious ehviors thn is weight sttus. Progrms promoting udiologicl helth my e wy to sensitize young people to use music s source of plesure without incurring hering loss. Ojectives: This study imed to compre the udiologicl helth hits of yer olds with young people ged in n ttempt to discover the est ge for the development of n udiologicl helth promotion project in schools. Methods: We conducted questionnire nd hering test for young people ged ttending the 7th grde nd young people ttending secondry school in the sme school. Results: The mjor difference etween these two groups ws found in the numer frequenting plces with loud music (3.8% versus 64.5%) nd intensity (50% or more of mximum volume) with which they listened to music with their hedphones (38.2% versus 61.3%) lthough oth groups use hedphones (84% versus 90.3%) in oth ers. Note tht oth groups hd norml hering (88.5% versus 83.9%), with the frequency of 6000Hz eing the most ffected, oth groups hd difficulty understnding the techer when there ws noise in the clssroom (58.7% versus 48.4%), nd oth groups knew tht noise could dmge hering (75.2% versus 93.5%). Conclusions: Knowing tht cquired ehviors re difficult to chnge, we cn conclude from this study tht progrm of hering helth will e more effective t ges 12-13, efore young people cquire the hit of listening to loud music in locl nightclus or through their hedphones, since i tis etween the ges of tht these ehviors re cquired. Methods: Systemtic review of full text ppers pulished etween Jnury 2002 nd July 2012 which included how ASD children ged etween two nd ten yers old ply. We portls, dtses nd serch engines were used (EBSCO, LILACS, PUBMED, MEDLINE, CINAHL, Acdemic Google). The following keywords in Portuguese, English nd Spnish were used: child, utism, ASD, ply, communiction nd socil interction. Studies with ASD children with ssocited diseses were excluded. Results: The prevlence of overweight nd oesity ws 24.2% nd 18.5%, respectively. Contct detils: crl@estescoimr.pt Introduction: The hering screning in preschool nd primry school children ims to identify erly chnges in the uditory system. It llows quick medicl referrl, voiding the ggrvtion of chnges, minimizing the hering prolems nd possile cdemic filure (ASHA,1997). Methods: A totl of 386 children (124 were preschool nd 262 were primry-school students) strted the review with otoscopy, tympnogrm nd the udiogrm screening, wich included survey of the thresholds 20dB t frequencies of 500, 1000, 2000 nd 4000 Hz (pss ou refere). It ws considered refers when presented t lest one of the following: chnges in otoscopy, tympnogrm type B or C2 nd not listen t 20 db one frequency t lest. Results: It ws found tht 9% of the children filed nd 74% pssed the hering screning, 3 % of the prolemtic children re lredy eing followed in ORL. To 17% of the smple it ws required to repet the screning fter month nd hlf, ccording to the guidelines of Americn Speech-Lnguge-Hering Assocition (ASHA, 2005). It ws found tht the ge group of 3/4 yers showed the most chnges in the screning with 27% of refere. Conclusions: The hering screning in pre nd primry school llows the identifiction nd erly intervention of chnges in the uditory system. Mny of these chnges re symptomtic going unnoticed for prents nd Eductors. Despite ASHA indictes preschool screning t 5 yers old, in this study it ws found tht the ge group with the highest percentges of chnges occurred t 3 yers old. It is suggested the implementtion of preschool screning lso to this ge group. Methods: This hs correltionl design nd non-proility smple of 1,011 portuguese prents of children up to three nd hlf nd the process of prenting which it ws opertionlized using : the child s physicl needs, sfety, development, communiction nd discipline (Lopes & Dixe, 2012). Results: We found the existence of the lck of confidence, of difficulties nd of the need for prents understnding of ll components of positive prenting. The Person s coefficients showed the existence of correltion (p < 0.01) etween the dimensions of ech scle. The incresed of prents knowledge incresed prents difficulties, The greter correltion ws etween prents knowledge needs on child s physicl needs nd = < (r = 0.712; p < 0.01) in complince with those needs. Conclusions: The results show res of need for intervention to support prents in positive prenting. They enhnce the need the existence of structured progrmmes for incresed the prents knowledge nd they show tht these progrmmes will contriute to improve the cpilities of prents to their role with view to child helth promotion.
