You ll be amazed at the financial abundance that s just waiting to make its way into your life. 4

As you read through Millionaire s Brain, it s likely that you discovered a few new surprising and powerful things about your brain. For example, your brain isn t just a lump of muscle and memory in your head, waiting to learn something new. Your mind is continually making connections, forming new thoughts and processes, and creating new neurons that can either reinforce your old behaviours, or develop new ones. The basis for Millionaire s Brain is that you can train these new neurons to develop positive habits and beliefs regarding you and money. The more you put these thoughts and habits into practice, the more likely it is that you can use the Law of Attraction to create an abundant and wealthy lifestyle. Think of these brain optimization practices as icing on the mind-money cake. Brain optimizers are exactly that they re exercises that are designed to help you achieve your mind s full potential. Your mind is made up of so many individual parts that it s important to connect them together with powerful practices. That s exactly what these brain optimizers are the techniques and exercises that will help you form new wealth-generating connections in your brain. When you go to the gym, you don t just work out for a couple of minutes and then expect yourself to walk out looking like a supermodel or action hero (if that was the case, we d never read another diet book or follow another exercise program again!). Instead, we need to put in the time and dedication that allows us to achieve our weight-loss goals. We have to exercise, and we have to complement our healthy new lifestyle with a good diet. 5

Well, these brain optimizers operate in the same way. You have to make a commitment to do them everyday, and you have to complement these exercises with positive thinking, productive habits, and a healthy dose of optimism. If your mind, body, and soul isn t aligned for achieving this goal, you may quickly realize that you won t be able to attract abundance into your life. These brain optimizers are successful for a simple reason: they re each designed to take advantage of a unique part of your brain, neural connection, or brain wave. Each brain optimizer trains a specific part of your brain, resulting in the kind of abundant results that will, quite frankly, astound you. These brain optimizers are designed to change how your brain waves operate, thus ensuring that your new and positive thoughts stick with you for the rest of your life. These brain optimizers are certainly no joke and we guarantee you ll realize that just after a few days of practice. If you ve ever attended a yoga class, you might realize that yogis are unique people who have trained their minds and hearts to seek out inner peace and calm. As a result, their lives are much less stressful, despite the fact that they may be exposed to the same stimuli as us. That s because they frequently practice these mind-clearing techniques, thus allowing their brains to calm down and release any stress that they may have felt throughout the day. 6

While master yogis take years and gurus to make this happen, you don t need to make a spiritual trip to Nepal to discover the incredible benefits that come hand-in-hand with constant practice. In fact, we want you to let go of the idea that practice is a dirty word. Sure, practicing anything means putting in a lot of time and grunt work before we see any results. But these brain optimizers are different. They don t require you to have a specific skill, and they certainly aren t as expensive as buying a one-way plane ticket to visit your guru in India. They re not laborious and technical; in fact, these brain optimizers are often fun. What s more, if you find it difficult to engage in these brain optimizers, all you have to do is come back to this workbook and try again. There s no beating yourself up if you don t get a certain concept, or get frustrated, or lose your patience. The only thing you have to do is commit to these practices each and every day. It s like engaging in a routine, rather than practicing a new skill. If you do it every day even the days when you d rather crawl into bed or hang out catching up on your favourite TV show just give yourself five to ten minutes to work on these brain optimizers. As you practice, these brain optimizers will become routine to you but the results certainly won t be. In fact, we guarantee that as you practice, you ll become so motivated by the abundance and positivity in your life that you won t want to stop. That s the amazing thing about these brain optimizers. With practice and a little bit of patience you ll be astounded by how much of an impact these results can have within your life. And not just your life; those of your family and friends, too. Living a positive and productive life means challenging and inspiring those around you to do the same. It means that as you become successful, those you love and care for the most will become successful as well. 7

As you can see, there s nothing that could go wrong by trying out these brain optimizers within your own life. Just give them a few weeks, and you ll see the kind of results that truly help you understand and realize the power of your own potential. Now let s start exploring some of the brain optimizers you ll be using throughout this workbook and for your foreseeable future. One of the biggest reasons why we hold ourselves back from achieving our dreams is because we simply feel too busy or too stressed to make it happen. We know that in order to accumulate more wealth, we have to make a commitment to increasing our financial education and filling ourselves with positive self-belief. But perhaps our negative beliefs are standing between us and our dreams. We start telling ourselves that we re too busy, or too stressed, or even not good enough to pursue a more wealthy lifestyle. We let days of potential slip through our fingers, until one day we wake up with the full realization that we let so much wasted opportunity go by. That s why it s critical to break down any negative beliefs that might still be clinging to your brain. Negative beliefs have been reinforced by years perhaps even decades of reinforcement and societal influences. Perhaps we wanted to be rich, but our parents told us to keep our feet on the ground and not dream so big. 8

Perhaps we had dreams of becoming wealthy, but because we didn t know enough millionaires, our access to resources and knowledge became limited. Perhaps you even tried to become wealthy yourself, only to experience backlash or a financial crisis that crushed your dreams before they even started. There are dozens of reasons why it can be difficult to escape these negative thoughts and habits. That s why it s important to provide your brain with plenty of alpha enhancement and theta bursts, as these brain waves can help you become more self-aware, relaxed, and peaceful in other words, primed for pumping positive beliefs into your brain. Being more self-aware is a unique quality that can help you attract more positivity and abundance into your life. Being self-aware helps you pause and realize when you re being reactive to negative thoughts in your head. You see, without mindfulness and self-awareness, it can be all too easy to let negative thoughts and habits take over. It s like being on autopilot and instead of moving yourself forward to success, you re just stuck in the same habits and thought cycles, forever denying yourself the joy and abundance of wealth. However, neuroscientists believe that when you engage in meditative acts, you allow critical brain waves including your alpha and theta waves to take over, thus relaxing your brain, creating emotional stability, and creating an aware state of mind. Without activating these brain waves, it can be impossible to become aware of the negative self-beliefs that are holding us back from success. 9

To help activate these alpha and theta waves, consider using the following meditative techniques: Find a calm and quiet place where you can relax without worrying about noises or distractions. In order to activate your alpha waves which is a state of deep relaxation it s important not to distract yourself with your phone, television, or any other common noises that could prevent you from achieving this state of mind. Turn off the television, leave your phone in the other room, and find a quiet spot in your house or apartment where you can be alone. If you re living with roommates or family members, consider letting them know that you re about to take a few minutes for yourself, and you shouldn t be disturbed. That way, you won t have family members walking in on your meditation or roommates disturbing your efforts to activate your alpha waves. Get in a comfortable position where you can sit for a few minutes without focusing on your physical self. For example, if you re sitting cross-legged but this position doesn t come naturally to you, you may want to consider lying down or sitting up on your bed. If you re too busy focusing on your aching back or readjusting your legs during your meditative process, you re not going to be able to activate the alpha waves that are essential for breaking down negative thoughts. Take a few deep breaths. Taking the time to focus on your breathing can help trigger your alpha waves, which is essential for getting your brain into a deep state of deep relaxation. Breathe in for a count of five through your nose, and breathe out for a count of six through your mouth. Really focus on your breathing here. Let the breath fill up your tummy, and exhale until your belly is a hollow pit. Don t let your mind focus on anything else other than your breathing, as this can distract your mind from activating its alpha waves. 10

Once you re in this state of deep relaxation, it s time to get your theta bursts working for you. Theta bursts are slower brain waves than alpha rhythms, which will signify a deeply relaxed state of mind. Theta bursts are normally associated with being asleep, but here, it simply means that you re in such a relaxed state that you feel calm. If you find yourself getting distracted as you focus on your breathing, just settle back into your spot and try it all over again. Don t pressure yourself to feel relaxed or beat yourself up if it doesn t happen fast enough. Meditation can take years to master, so you re not going to get it in one fell swoop. The point is to get comfortable with relaxing so you can start focusing on the negative self-beliefs that are preventing you from achieving your financial success. Once you ve reached this heightened sense of self and don t rush it; it can take either a few minutes to relax yourself, or half an hour it s time to start analyzing the negative beliefs that are holding you back from achieving a life of abundance and wealth. With your alpha and theta brain waves in full motion, you ll be able to analyze your negative thoughts without feeling down about yourself. While you do this, your brain will be engaged in desynchronization, which severs ties between well-connected areas of your brain. In other words, your alpha and theta waves are breaking down the connection between your neural pathways and your negative thoughts, meaning that they ll become less stronger and reinforced in your mind. 11

This is essential for replacing negative thoughts with positive beliefs, as it helps break down the strength of toxic neural connections that are preventing you from achieving success. Still not convinced about the benefits of meditation? Just the simple act of taking a moment to process your inner thoughts can help you achieve the following benefits: Reduce your levels of stress and depression in your mind and body; Enhance self-awareness, including becoming aware of toxic habits that might be holding you back from success; Emotional control, which is essential for resulting impulses to engage in familiar negative thinking and toxic habits; Increase higher brain functions; Clarify inner reflection; Visibly grow more brain matter and enhance positive connections within the brain; Boost immune system; Reduce addictive behaviour to toxic habits and negative ways of thinking about money; and Make room for enhanced development of communication and social skills. During this activity, think back to the societal influences and beliefs that are holding you back with your money practices. Don t ruminate over these thoughts until they make you feel down. The point is to recognize that they exist, and realize that they re holding you back. In the next activity, you ll learn to replace these negative thoughts with more positive and productive ways of thinking. 12

Cognitive behavioural therapy is critical for gaining control over your thoughts and emotions, which is important for creating positive beliefs. With cognitive behavioural therapy, you re not at the mercy of negative thoughts or impulsive emotions that could make you feel depressed or anxious about money. Instead, cognitive behavioural therapy ensures that your thoughts are primed to create feelings of positivity and abundance throughout your body. After all, neuroscientists have long since discovered that our thoughts control our emotions, and not the other way around. It may feel that when we become sad or happy, our thoughts follow suit; however, by controlling our thoughts, we can control our emotions, thus ensuring that we re always in a positive mindset to attract more wealth and abundance. For example, have you ever noticed that some people seem to thrive under pressure, while others cave in and shut down at the smallest sign of stress? That s the heart behind cognitive behavioural therapy. Some people allow their thoughts to take over, while others are in complete control at all times. Take, for example, two students who need to study for their Cognitive behavioural therapy can have a huge impact on our brain s functions, as brainwaves and neural connections form the foundation of our thoughts and habits. In the Millionaire s Brain book, you already learned that neural connections form the basis for powerful thoughts and habits; cognitive behavioural therapy can help you reform these neural pathways so that your positive thoughts are more powerful than any negative ones. 13

In other words, cognitive behavioural therapy can help you rewire your brain, thus ensuring that your mind is primed for positivity and power. Neuroscientists have estimated that this process can take approximately 12 weeks to occur, with six weeks being necessary for breaking down the negative thoughts and habits that currently reside in your mind. Cognitive behavioural therapy can also have the following advantages: Reduce anxiety and depression associated with negative thoughts and habits; Take effect quickly, as cognitive behavioural therapy has been shown to produce results in as little as 12 weeks; Can be used easily by people with little to no experience with cognitive behavioural therapy; Improve your concentration and focus on achieving goals that are important to you; Improve your overall awareness of self; Improve your mental attitude by allowing more positive thoughts and habits to form in your brain; and Improve your overall sense of self-esteem and positive belief in yourself. To engage in cognitive behavioural therapy, considering utilizing the following tips and techniques: 14

It s time to recognize the negative thoughts and actions that are holding you back from achieving success. During the meditation exercise that you ve been engaging in, recognize the negative thoughts that could be holding you back. They may appear similar to the thoughts outlined below: I m not good at saving money. I m never going to be rich. I m defective, so I m never going to be wealthy. People are going to laugh at me because I ll fail. I m a failure at saving money. It s my lot in life to be here. Once you recognize the negative thoughts and beliefs that are holding you back from attracting wealth and abundance into your life, you ll need to decide on what core belief you want to replace these thoughts with. For example, if you commonly tell yourself that you re not good at saving money, you ll want to replace this comment with a more positive thought, such as, I AM good at saving money. Don t tell yourself that you re sometimes good at saving money or most of the time you re good with money. Your positive belief needs to be powerful and all-encompassing, which means there are no rules for exceptions. Identify how much you believe the negative core belief, and the new positive belief. For example, you could rate it on a scale of one to ten, with ten being you firmly believe it, and one being you don t believe it at all. Be as honest with yourself as possible, as this can help ensure that your cognitive behavioural therapy will be successful. 15

Identify the negative core belief that you re experiencing. Are you experiencing \\\ a negative belief that disappears when you feel more positive about yourself? Or is it a stable thought that exists, no matter what your mood or thoughts might be? Strengthen the positive beliefs that you want to embrace in your own mind. Cognitive behavioural therapy doesn t work by trying to ignore the negative thoughts that already exist inside of your mind. Instead, it works by focusing on the positive thoughts that you d like to replace in your brain. If you spend more time giving strength and power to your positive beliefs, your negative ones will eventually shrink away, resulting in a more positive and powerful mindset that will attract abundance into your life. When it comes to replacing your negative beliefs with positive and powerful ones, it s important to repeat positive mantras to yourself as you re meditating. When your brain waves are relaxed, it s easier to break down negative neural connections and replace them with positive and stronger ones. Consider replacing your negative thoughts by saying the following affirmations out loud: I am good with money. I am wealthy. I live a positive and powerful life. My life is filled with abundance and wealth. I am filled with potential and power. I have an abundance of opportunities available to me. I am capable of anything. 16

You don t necessarily have to believe these positive mantras the first time you say them. The point is that the more you say these beliefs, the more your brain will respond to your mantras and that will create the kind of neural pathways that will lead to more productive and abundant habits. Be as specific as possible with your mantras. Don t just give yourself vague mantras about money; tell yourself how your wealthy and abundant lifestyle will make a difference for you and your family members. Once you ve start creating positive beliefs within your mind, you can take your powers of attraction to the next level with the next brain optimizer, which we ve called the Gold Medal technique. Neuro-linguistic programming (or NLP) is a relatively new phenomenon within the world of neuroscience, as it didn t become recognized until the late 1970s. NLP embraces the fact that communication and language play important roles in the formation of our brains. By using selective words and communicating them to ourselves and others, we can help ensure that our brains are primed for success. In effect, we can use NLP to tell our brains what to believe. NLP utilizes and activates the same areas of the brain as meditation, which means that our minds are much more receptive to positive mantras than when we re in any other state. While there isn t a great deal of research that has been performed on NLP since the 70s, it is still a powerful technique that can make it possible for you to optimize your brain for wealth and abundance. To effectively use NLP techniques to optimize your own brain, consider taking the following steps: 17

Keep a journal of all the positive statements you ve been saying to yourself over the course of the last few weeks. Write down how you feel when you say these positive statements to yourself. Do you believe in them? Do you feel a sense of hope and happiness? Track your emotions in your journal, as this will play an important role in helping you determine how your mind is responding to these brain optimizers. Repeat the positive mantras in the last exercise in a mirror or another reflective surface. Sometimes looking yourself face to face can force you to acknowledge that you need to believe in what you re saying. You may feel uncomfortable at first, especially when you look yourself in the eye and say positive things. This is because you re so used to negative thought processes that saying something different might feel strange. But keep going through with this exercise, as over time, you ll come to feel more comfortable with the act of looking yourself in the eye and telling yourself positive things. Tell someone you trust about the positive influence you want to have over your mind. Since NLP techniques require you to use language and communication, having someone provide you with verbal feedback about your goals can help positive neural pathways form within your mind. Tell a family member or friend about what you re doing, and what you require from them. You want to tell someone who is going to be supportive of you and pick you up when you re feeling down. Be very selective about who you tell, as you don t want this person to mock you; this just reinforces any negative beliefs and thought processes. 18

Interpret some negative events and experiences that you ve encountered in your past. Events and experiences can play a powerful role in forming negative thought processes, as they serve to reinforce the dismal beliefs you have in your mind. Spin these previous events around into more positive ones. For example, if you lost money on an investment during the Great Recession, don t use this as a reason as to why you should avoid investing. Instead, regard it as a learning experience. Instead of using aggressive investments, you could spread your money out more so you won t be as impacted by a sudden dip in the market. Remove the words, I can t from your vocabulary. Saying I can t acknowledges the fact that nothing is in your control, which removes your sense of responsibility and power. If you want to optimize your brain to achieve wealth, it s important to recognize that everything in your life is a choice. When you remove the words, I can t, you ll find that there are more options and choices available that you might not have realized before. Pretend you can do the things you feel you can t do. For example, if you think that you re bad at handling money, tell yourself that you are, and act accordingly. This follows the mantra of fake it until you make it, which means that with enough pretending, you ll eventually become the thing you want to be. It s just another example of how powerful and incredible the mind can really be. NLP works to reinforce your brain s newfound positive beliefs. After all, it can be very difficult for your brain to let go of negative beliefs and thought processes, especially if they ve been reinforced by previous events and experiences. That s why it s critical to recognize that your beliefs are a matter of choice. 19

You re not married to your negative beliefs, nor do you have to suffer with them for the rest of your life. You can drop the beliefs that are limiting you, or you can choose to keep these toxic beliefs in your life. Give yourself permission to explore the newfound possibilities and opportunities that are available to you. Don t restrict yourself based upon your past, or from experiences that you may have encountered in the world of finances. The past is your past and the future is waiting for you with new potential and choices. These brain optimizers are designed to show you something powerful: it s your choice whether you end up wealthy or not. Wealth isn t something that happens to a lucky few, or something that s randomly given to some people over another. Money is something that you can make happen in your life with a little bit of work and a few smarter choices. It s like weight loss or pursuing a job you ve always wanted. It s not going to happen right away, nor is it going to happen if you sit back and wait for everything to be handed to you. It takes a considerable amount of effort and work to attract wealth into your life but when you use these brain optimizers, you ll notice something amazing happen. 20

You ll notice that you ll start to make smarter choices with your money. Instead of spending your pay check as soon as you get it, you ll find that the impulse to spend is gone and instead, you want to save as much money as possible. You ll discover that you don t look at money as something you don t have enough of; instead, you ll realize that you have an abundance of money already, and you can help it to grow. You ll also realize the power and potential that resides within your own mind. When you realize the incredible potential that your brain can achieve, you ll suddenly be in awe of all that you can do. Nothing seems off-limits to you. You ll be able to pursue anything and everything in your path and what s more, you won t encounter any of the limiting thoughts and beliefs that previously held you back. You ll feel energized and heightened by the sense of your own power and potential. And what s more, you ll inspire those around you. Your family members and friends will realize just how powerful positive thinking can be and they ll be quick to follow suit. Right now, you have a choice. You can choose to use the exercises you ve found in this workbook. You can choose to optimize your brain for success, and achieve the life you ve always wanted. Or you could choose to continue down the same path, hoping for a wealthy life but always ending up disappointed. The choice is before you so which options will you choose? 21
