Gender Beliefs Questionnaire. This 17-item scale was constructed to assess parents attitudes about the gender-appropriate behavior of children. Items address five primary areas in which individuals beliefs regarding gender are culturally salient: gender essentialism, gendered display rules, gendered behavior, gendered appearance, and gendered labor expectations. Halberstadt, A. G., Lozada, F. T., Leary, K. A., Garrett-Peters, P., & Sibley, P. A. (2011). Increasingly Clear Emotions (ICE) Task. This task assesses emotion understanding of dynamic facial stimuli. The task includes 20 facial sequences of emotion expression beginning from a nearly neutral emotion expression to a prototypical emotion expression. The facial stimuli are completely balanced by emotion (happiness, sadness, anger, fear, surprise), race (African American and European American), and gender, and can be used with participants from ages 8 through adulthood. Currently used in three independent labs.
