1 MUN Resolution Organizer A: Build Background Knowledge 1. What information and past history exists on your topic from a global perspective. 2. What is your country s position and track record in relationship to: i. The United Nations ii. Your Economic and Political System iii. Refugees iv. Human Rights/ Human Rights Violations v. Write your Preambulatory Clauses (the first part of your Resolution): Your pre-ambulatory Clauses should reveal your Country s understanding of the background/context based on which you are suggesting your Operative Clauses. Remember: You want to paint a picture which allows the suggestions you make through your Operative Clause to really seem to make sense. Be sure to think about each of the questions below as your write your pre-ambulatory Clauses: 1. What do you think the key historical events are leading up to the current situation in? 2. Follow the formatting directions laid out in the MUN handbook. Resolutions will not be approved until formating is correct. Remember, your resolutions should not exceed two pages so pick clauses carefully, avoid redundancy and be concise.
