Not many people know where this new, oldest tree is. It is being kept secret, so no one will harm it. entertain inform persuade 2. Once upon a time, there was a king who said he would give half his kingdom to whomever found the oldest living tree in the forest. Men cut down trees left and right so they could count their rings. Soon only one small sapling was left in the forest. A young girl went to the king. Come with me, she said. She led the king to the sapling. This is the oldest living tree now, she said. The others are all dead. The king gave her half his kingdom.
