Group therapy involved a process group where each victim could feel safe to disclose their story and know they are not alone. Research Experience Clinical Research Project/Dissertation, The Comprehensive Options for Police Selection (COPS): An Adverse Impact Study (Chair: Rebecca Tews-Kowzlowski, Ph.D. Reader: Kammie Juzwin, PsyD.) A quantitative study that reviewed the use of the Comprehensive Options for Police Selection (COPS) exam, which is an entry-level written exam for police candidates. This written-exam was generated by Juzwin & Oster (2000) for independent use at C.O.P.S. and F.I.R.E. Personnel Testing Service, in Schaumburg IL. This test was developed through expert validity. Those experts are familiar with current industry standards that are not publicly available and contributed their knowledge to insure that the measure included the necessary constructs for evaluation. The goal of this study was to identify whether ethnicity, gender, or age was associated with score disparity such that it significantly affected whether a candidate would be recommended to continue through the screening process based on his or her overall score on the C.O.P.S. entry-level written exam.
