2 GENERAL INFORMATION COURSE DESCRIPTION The Conference on Home Dialysis Therapies aims to provide a both clinically applicable and scientifically founded educational experience to the audience. The conference will take participants through many relevant topics within dialysis and home therapies An essential concept of the meeting is that the talks are given by clinician-scientists active in the respective fields. OBJECTIVES After completion of this course, you will be able to: Recognize the impact of Peritoneal Dialysis management, in particular with respect to its utilization in Acute Kidney Injury and exemplify its advantages in comparison with Continuous Renal Replacement Therapy (CRRT) Explain to patients the relevance of adherence to treatment guidelines with performing Peritoneal Dialysis at home, which is crucial for their well-being Integrate strategies in identifying the most adequate type of Peritoneal Dialysis, whether Continuous Ambulatory Peritoneal Dialysis (CAPD) or HCPD for individual patients and relate to their outcomes Differentiate the fluid dynamics between the utilization of Peritoneal Dialysis at home and in relation to intermittent in-center hemodialysis and its effect in intradialytic weight gain/loss TARGET AUDIENCE This activity has been designed for nephrologists, internists, primary care physicians, nephrology nurses and other allied health care clinicians exposed to patients with kidney disorders.
