6 What do we mean by Compliance? We define proper patient compliance as taking the right dose of the right medication at the right time for the prescribed duration of the treatment. 6

Patient related: Memory is critical to taking medication on the correct schedule and in the correct way. Any impairment in memory or cognitive functioning will adversely affect adherence.
