3 Radiological experience: Cairo University Hospital (Kasr El-Eini Hospital) is the largest medical school hospital in Egypt (3000 beds) and is severed by a large radiology department divided as follows: * General Radiology: 1- GIT unit 2- Orthopedics and urology unit 3- Neuroradiology unit 4- Emergency unit 5- Pediatric unit 6- Women health care unit 7- Diagnostic and interventional vascular unit Mainly concerned with the vascular, chest and heart radiology and has 3 angiographic suites with Philip Maximus CRT 100, Philips diagnost 94 and GE Advantx AFM DX. machines with an average daily work of 5 cases diagnostic and 2 interventional cases * Cross sectional imaging: 8- U/S unit ATL Ultramark 9, ATL Ultramark 4 plus, Philips HDI 5000 and Siemens sonoline Elegra are the working machines for this unit with an average work load of 25 cases for U/S examinations and 15 cases for Doppler studies every day. 9- CT unit Siemens Somatom plus-5 with an average daily work of 20 patients. GE light speed, Multislice (4) with an average daily work of 30 patients. Toshiba x-vision with an average daily work of 20 patients. 10- MRI unit Have two MRI machines Philips Gyroscan Intera 1.5 T. with an average daily work of 35 patients. GE medical system 1 T. with an average daily work of 30 patients.

4 A scientific meeting is held every week (on Wednesday) between the different units of the department to demonstrate and discuss the most challenging cases met in different units. Another clinical-radiological meetings are held weekly between each radiological unit and the clinical unit of interest and it is attended by all members of the radiology unit. During my residency program which started March 1994, 1 went through rotational work in the different units (period of 4 mouths in each unit including the daily work and on-call duties) which continued for 4 years. I was appointed as an assistant lecturer in 1998 when I started my specialty in the interventional radiology field by applying for the M.D. degree in radiodiagnosis and started my Doctorate thesis in the interventional work. Through the following 6 years ( ) 1 worked under the supervision of two professors, two assistant professors and three senior lecturers. In the 1st year as an observer, then as an assistant for another year then stated working supervised till I was appointed as a lecturer in Nov I perform the interventional radiology work on almost daily bases in my hospital and I am responsible for the interventional radiology section in one of the private centers in Egypt. In the last two years, June 2006 till June 2008, I joined FONDATION OPHTALMOLOGIQUE ADOLPHE DE ROTHSCHILD Service de Neuroradiologie Interventionnelle et Fonctionnelle. Paris. France under the supervision of Prof. Jacques Moret. During this period, I was exposed (hands on) to all kind of neuro-interventional procedures (Aneurysms, Brain AVMs, Dural fistulas, intracranial and carotid stenting, )
