1 Stanford University Curriculum (for incoming fellows beginning in 2018) Leadership: Fellowship Director: Carrie Rassbach, MD Associate Fellowship Director: Nita Srinivas, MD Fellowship Coordinators: Denise Reyes, Charlene Rotandi Division Chief, Pediatric Hospital Medicine: Joe Kim, MD Associate Chief of Research: Alan Schroeder, MD Associate Medical Director: Lauren Destino, MD Chief of Pediatrics: Mary Leonard, MD, MSCE Aims: The Academic Pediatric Hospital Medicine Fellowship Program at Stanford University aims to produce pediatric hospitalists who: A) Will be experts in caring for hospitalized children with a variety of acute and chronic conditions B) Will be proficient in core skills essential to the care of hospitalized children C) Will be academically productive, generating new knowledge and scholarship in areas such as education, quality and performance improvement, health services research, clinical research, advocacy and global health D) Will be future leaders in hospital administration, quality, and value-driven health care Timeline and Process 1. The Stanford University Pediatric Hospital Medicine Fellowship Program is a 2-year fellowship program which provides two years of funded fellowship training with 2 positions per year 2. National recruitment begins each July with applications due by October Applicants selected for interview will interview in October-November. 4. Our fellowship uses the NRMP Fall Pediatric Specialties Match. 5. Fellowship orientation begins July 5 each year.
2 Stanford Pediatric Hospital Medicine Fellowship Program PICU/Hospitalist Orientation Orientation Pediatric Hospital Medicine Service 10 weeks (Wed-Tues) Pediatric Hospital Medicine Blue Team: includes care & stabilization of critically ill children and (7 LPCH, 3 PEC) (2.5 units) complex care (Rotation Director: Sakai) PEC: Community Pediatric Hospital Medicine (Rotation Director: Everhart) 10 Nights (LPCH/PEC) Sedation (1 unit) Newborn Care (0.5 unit) Clinical Didactics Quality and Process Improvement (1 unit) Fellow as Teacher ICCR SCVMC Sedation Rotation Director: Nicole Baier Newborn Care at Santa Clara Valley Medical Center Rotation Director: Monica Stemmle 1. Bimonthly PHM fellowship didactic series 2. PHM-led Noon Conferences for Fellows/Residents/Students (Monthly, fellow to lead 1 per year) 3. PHM Division Journal Club (Monthly, fellow to lead 1 per year) 4. Blue Team Clinical Teaching (weekly on Thursdays) Quality and Process Improvement and Patient Safety Scholarly Concentration Block (Rotation Directors: Srinivas, Destino, Platchek) 1.
