Get to know the facts at and SAMPLE TWEETS Use the sample tweets by theme to show how you Sexually Transmitted and Blood Borne Infections (STBBIs) You may already call them STIs or STDs but their official name is #STBBI: sexually transmitted and blood borne infections #STBBIs can be spread through vaginal, oral or anal sex, and by sharing sex toys. They are quite common! #STBBIs can be spread through non-sexual activities like sharing needles #GetTested Many people who have an #STBBI don t show any symptoms: make sure you and your partner(s) get tested regularly!

Could be an STBBI #gettested Some #STBBIs can be spread orally. Don t forget to ask for a throat swab when you are being tested Some #STBBIs are curable and some are treatable #getinformed Chlamydia, Gonorrhea, Trichomoniasis, Syphilis and Crabs are all curable #STBBIs #getinformed Many health professionals may not automatically test you for #STBBIs. Make sure to ask to be tested regularly! Some things aren t for sharing: needles, razors, toothbrushes, sex toys, condoms & dams Genital Herpes, HPV, Hepatitis & HIV are all treatable STBBIs #getinformed Practicing safer sex is the best way to prevent an #STBBI! TIL: oral sex after dental work, flossing or brushing teeth can put you more at risk for an #STBBI Condoms are usually free at sexual health and family planning clinics! #protectyourself Don t forget to check the expiry date on your condoms! #protectyourself Caring for Yourself Vulva: external genital organs of the female body. Vagina: internal sexual and reproductive organs Vulvas come in all shapes, forms and colours The vulva is rich in nerve endings and provides pleasure when properly stimulated

Save others for special occasions Be gentle on your genitals! Make sure to choose gentle laundry detergent and change underwear regularly Menstrual cups or 100% cotton pads or tampons are your best options. Always wash your hands before and after use! Menstrual cup care: Empty and wash at least twice a day, boil for about 10 minutes at the end of your cycle #genitalhealth Make sure to get regular Pap tests starting when you re 25, regardless of your partner(s) s sex. #genitalhealth What lube to choose? Look for unscented and water-based lubricants #genitalhealth Let s talk about penises! The penis is the external sexual organ of the male body Penises vary in size, width and colour. They can also be smooth or bumpy. Everyone s genitals are unique An erection usually happens when someone is sexually excited, but can also happen in non-sexual situations Circumcision is the removal of all or part of the foreskin, for cultural, religious and/or medical reasons Testicles are responsible for producing sperm and hormones like testosterone
