2 Snoring & Obstructive Sleep Apnoea cadaver dissection course Dear Colleague, Snoring and OSA Cadaver Dissection Course is for the surgical connoisseur. This course is a wonderful opportunity to learn and perfect surgical technique under expert supervision. Cadaver dissection allows the assimilation of knowledge with the certainty of a new skill learned or an old skill refined. This course covers the necessary operations for snoring and obstructive sleep apnoea under the experienced supervision and tutelage of Stuart Mackay (Wollongong), and Andrew Jones (Wollongong) as well as our own faculty from the Head and Neck Unit, Department of Otolaryngology, Head and Neck Surgery, Princess Alexandra Hospital. To instruct and update Australian Otolaryngologists, Head and Neck Surgeons in surgical techniques currently utilised for management of snoring and OSA. To enable all course delegates to return to their parent hospitals and continue to maintain their surgical skills and anatomical knowledge through continuing cadaver dissection. To be competent in polysomnography interpretation. To understand the general principles and future directions of surgery for snoring and OSA in contemporary Australian otolaryngology practice.

6 Snoring & Obstructive Sleep Apnoea cadaver dissection course Invited Guest Speakers Professor Stuart Mackay Prof MacKay completed his training in Otolaryngology Head & Neck Surgery in 2006 and then undertook 12 months of training in Contemporary Airway Reconstruction techniques for OSA with Dr Sam Robinson and Professor Simon Carney in Adelaide. Since returning to Wollongong in 2008, he has established a Sleep Multidisciplinary Team which meets for regular patient reviews in the Illawarra. He has delivered national and international lectures on Surgery for OSA, including invited keynote addresses as far afield as India, published papers on new techniques and philosophies and co-authored multiple peer reviewed papers on different aspects of sleep medicine. He is the vice president of the International Surgical Sleep Society. Prof MacKay resides in Wollongong, New South Wales, with his wife and three children. Dr. Andrew Jones Dr Andrew Jones is a Respiratory & Sleep Disorders Physician working in public and private practice in Wollongong in NSW. He undertook his speciality training at Royal Prince Alfred Hospital and Concord Hospital in Sydney. He has a specific interest in Obstructive Sleep Apnoea management, in particular, the role of a multidisciplinary team in defining best treatment outcomes and assessing the role of treatment options other than CPAP in the condition. He has a strong interest in Medical Education and is the current Director of Physician Training at Shellharbour Hospital. Dr Lyndon Chan Dr Lyndon Chan graduated from medical school at the University of Western Australia with honours and underwent training in Ear, Nose and Throat surgery in New South Wales. Subsequently he completed a fellowship in snoring/obstructive sleep apnoea surgery under Prof. Stuart Mackay in 2016 and is currently about to undergo further fellowship training overseas in Singapore and USA.
