4 Section Mandatory Liquor Licensing Course in Liquor Licensing (52065) and Provide Responsible Service of Alcohol (SITHFAB009A) The Australian Hotels Association (WA) Course in Liquor Licensing (52065) is approved by the Department of Racing, Gaming and Liquor. This 1-day course is mandatory for all Unrestricted Approved Managers / Licensees and is highly recommended for all supervisory staff in licensed venues. Participants who have successfully completed this course will be issued with a Statement of Attainment stating they have fulfilled the requirements of this course (52065), as well as the nationally accredited Provide Responsible Service of Alcohol unit of competency (SITHFAB009A). This accredited course is required to cover: Module 1 - Administration Provisions of the Liquor Control Act Module 2 - Enforcement Provisions of the Liquor Control Act Module 3 - Manage Intoxicated Persons Module 4 - Provide Responsible Service of Alcohol and SITHFAB009A Learning Outcomes Participants will need to demonstrate an understanding of: The administrative provisions of the Liquor Control Act The enforcement provisions of the Liquor Control Act How to manage intoxicated persons and The provision of responsible service of alcohol Assessment Criteria Participants will be required to complete an assessment demonstrating knowledge for the following: An understanding of the key responsibilities as applied to the administration of the Liquor Control Act An understanding of various licence categories An understanding of the legislation that impacts upon the issue of a liquor licence An understanding of the rights and responsibilities of management and staff relative to the proper conduct of a licensed premise An understanding of the key issues associated with possible non-compliance with legislation How to identify common breaches of the Liquor Control Act Identification of customers to whom service must/may be refused in accordance with state regulations Dealing with juveniles procedures for the identification of underage patrons Acceptable proof of age identification Preparation of standard drinks and safe drinking levels Preparation and service of alcoholic beverages responsibly How to assist customers to drinks within appropriate limits How to recognise signs of intoxication, dealing with adverse behaviour and identification of the relevant areas of the Liquor Control Act An understanding of drunk in accordance with the Liquor Control Act Provide refusal of service instances where service of liquor may be refused Procedures for assisting alcohol affected customers including difficult, intoxicated and underage customers Dealing with conflict resolution, requesting customers leave Recognise and reporting of situations where assistance is required Harm Minimisation and Duty of Care Strategies associated with intoxicated persons Responsible server practices in the service and promotion of liquor Crowd Controllers duties and management The Directors Responsible Promotion of Liquor Guidelines Harm Minimisation Strategies and House Policies appropriate documentation
5 Section Mandatory RSA and Online Training Provide Responsible Service of Alcohol (SITHFAB009A) This 4-5 hour course is Nationally Recognised Training, and is a Unit of Competency in partial completion of the following qualification: Certificate II in Hospitality (Operations THH21802). This course is mandatory for all servers of alcohol, and is a pre-requisite for flight attendant candidates of major airlines. Participants who have successfully completed this course will be issued with a Statement of Attainment certificate stating they have been assessed as competent, according to the performance criteria as listed.
