2 Accountability: Keeping People Safe by Policing with the Community. Accountability is a fundamental building block for any police service to secure community trust and legitimacy. It is the way to earn the public s co-operation and collaboration. For the Police Service of Northern Ireland, accountability helps us achieve our policing purpose of Keeping People Safe. Local Policing Plan Outcome Reducing harm caused by crime and antisocial behaviour with a focus on protecting the most vulnerable. Address the issue of antisocial behaviour in our communities and reduce the number of incidents. Reduce the number of incidents of nondomestic violent crime. Report to PCSP on initiatives and outcomes in relation to the reduction of non-domestic violent crime with injury including the identification of any trends. Report to PCSP on activities and initiatives undertaken by the district in relation to reducing burglaries and improving outcomes and in particular where the victims are older people.

3 Keeping People Safe on the Roads. Work in partnership to address serious and organised crime. Local Policing Plan Objective Reduce the number of people killed or seriously injured on our roads through enforcement activity. Address the issue of drugs in our communities and the harm caused by their possession and supply. Report to PCSP on our education, prevention and enforcement activities around keeping those on our roads safe and specifically regarding the main causation factors of: Drink/drug driving. Speeding. Use of mobile phone. No seatbelt. Driving without insurance. Report to PCSP on initiatives and outcomes in relation to drugs and to increase outcome rates relating to drugs offences.

4 Fairness, Courtesy and Respect: Fairness, Courtesy and Respect are the minimum standards for the Police Service of Northern Ireland in treating people both outside and inside the organisation. These standards are non-negotiable. They are also key to securing our community s confidence and trust. Local Policing Plan Outcome Increasing trust and confidence in policing. Ensure that our Officers treat the public with fairness, courtesy and respect. Report to PCSPs on the levels of complaints made regarding the conduct of our Officers and what we are doing to reduce these.

5 Collaborative Decision Making: Collaborative Decision Making is based on the principles of partnership, engagement, and a clear sense of shared purpose. This process has at its core collective responsibility and accountability. In making decisions collaboratively, PSNI shares the burden as well as the opportunity present in significant decisions. Local Policing Plan outcome Reducing harm caused by crime and antisocial behaviour with a focus on protecting the most vulnerable. Identify those most vulnerable within our communities and take steps in reducing their vulnerability in collaboration with our key partners. develop initiatives to improve reporting and outcomes in relation to hate crime. develop initiatives to improve reporting and outcomes in relation to domestic abuse.
