2 Our focus. Your priorities. This policing plan will outline the priorities your community identified during our most recent consultation. It will inform you of the action we have taken up till now to address those priorities and how we plan to continue to address them throughout the year. Our focus is to reduce crime and disorder, to increase public reassurance within your community and to keep people safe. We will continue to work closely with our partners and find effective long-term solutions to the issues you raised. Local Priorities You identified that the policing priorities for Lomond Ward area are as follows: 2. Violent Crime You told us that you were concerned about the levels of violence within the community. 3. Road Safety You told us speeding motorists and other forms of antisocial driving were causing you concern. 4. Antisocial and Drunken Behaviour in Public Places You told us that rowdy, drunken and disorderly behaviour was occurring within your community. We have listened to your concerns and comments and are working hard to make improvements in Lomond Ward. 1. Drug Dealing and Misuse You told us that drug misuse and drug dealing was of concern.

3 Our actions to date. Drug Dealing and Misuse We develop community intelligence on people who deal in and use controlled drugs. Local officers and specialist teams have targeted those responsible at addresses where drug dealing is suspected of taking place. When drug dealing has been detected, we share information with West Dunbartonshire Council to support tenancy action. Violence We have targeted locations identified as problematic for violent crime alongside individuals who present the greatest risk of violence, including those known to carry offensive weapons. This intelligence led approach has contributed to a significant decrease in crimes of violence. Antisocial and Drunken Behaviour in public places We have directed officers to patrol at key locations and times which have been identified through incident analysis and have dealt robustly with individuals behaving in a rowdy or drunken manner and consuming alcohol in public places. Partnership Working We continue to work alongside partners including West Dunbartonshire Council. We engage with other law enforcement agencies including British Transport Police to identify and tackle the issues highlighted as being of greatest concern to the community. Road Safety We continue to work to positively influence driver behaviour by targeting irresponsible or speeding motorists. We have shared information with specialist colleagues to allow them to target enforcement activity, to promote road safety and prevent road crashes.

4 In the coming months. Drug Dealing and Misuse We will continue to be pro-active in developing intelligence on those who deal in and use controlled drugs. We will target drug dealers to reduce the availability of drugs and will continue to work with our partners, combining education and enforcement strategies. Violence We will continue to target individuals known to be violent including those who carry weapons. We will identify problematic locations and carry out regular preventative policing activity. Alongside partners in the criminal justice system, we will endeavour to ensure effective measures are put in place to reduce re-offending for this type of crime. Road Safety We will continue to positively influence driver behaviour through the use of education and enforcement, paying particular attention to the use of mobile phones whilst driving and speeding. Local police officers will patrol in prominent locations and carry out periodic road checks to positively impact on driver behaviour. Antisocial and Drunken Behaviour in public places We will continue to use directed patrols at weekends and other identified times to deter and disrupt those involved in antisocial behaviour. We will ensure appropriate action, such as the issue of fixed penalty notices, is taken against those who engage in rowdy behaviour and street drinking. Enforcement Where preventative measures fail, we will continue to report the most prolific offenders through the criminal justice system. Partnership Working We will continue to use our links with all local partners, including West Dunbartonshire Council, to share information and identify long term solutions to recurring problems in the ward and surrounding area.
