4 Overdose Deaths Increasing 116 people a day die from opioid-related drug overdoses (CDC) Prescription Opioid Misuse Decreasing Approximately 11.8 million individuals misused opioids in 2016 of those, 11.5 million, were misusing prescription pain relievers. This is down by a million from 2015 (National Survey on Drug Use and Health) 4
