1 Hamilton West & Earnock Multi Member Ward Plan 2016
2 Our focus. Your priorities. Local Priorities This report covers the progress we have made in dealing with your priorities and it includes our future plans. Your priorities for the Hamilton West and Earnock area are: 1. Violent Crime You told us of your concerns about the levels of assault and other forms of violent crime that were taking place in Hamilton West and Earnock. 3. Dishonesty You told us you were concerned about housebreakings and other forms of theft, which can impact on your feelings of safety and security. 4. Antisocial Behaviour You told us that rowdy, drunken and disorderly behaviour and vandalism was occurring within your community and this was affecting your quality of life. 2. Drug Misuse You told us that drug misuse and drug dealing was of concern to you and impacted on your sense of community well-being.
3 Our actions to date. Violent Crime We have worked with a variety of partners and you in the community to ensure that intelligence led policing continues to identify and deal with those who commit violent acts. Drug Misuse We have remained visible in the community to develop intelligence on drugs dealers. We have targeted these dealers to reduce the availability of drugs and have worked with partners to combine engagement and enforcement strategies. Dishonesty We have continued to patrol at key times to deter and detect those responsible for crimes of dishonesty. We have developed community intelligence and where suspects have been identified we have carried out action against them. Antisocial Behaviour We have continued to use directed patrols to disrupt those involved in antisocial behaviour. We have targeted drinking in public places and have taken action against those who reside at problematic addresses.
4 In the coming months. Violent Crime We will increase patrols around town centres to impact on disorder. We will continue to use all legislation at our disposal to take action against those who are responsible for acts of violence. We will continue to take robust action against those responsible for domestic abuse. Drug Misuse We will continue to work with the community to gather intelligence on those who sell/supply drugs, take action against them and seize assets gained by illegal means. Antisocial Behaviour We will continue to listen to local concerns, be visible on the streets and work with our partners to act against those intent on causing fear and alarm in our communities. Dishonesty We will continue to develop information and will monitor and arrest those engaged in this type of behaviour.
