1 Oban South & the Isles Multi Member Ward Plan 2016

2 Our focus. Your priorities. This policing plan will outline the priorities your community identified during our most recent consultation. It will inform you of the action we have taken up till now to address those priorities and how we plan to continue to address them throughout the year. Our focus is to reduce crime and disorder, to increase public reassurance within your community and to keep people safe. We will continue to work closely with our partners and find effective long-term solutions to the issues you raised. Local Priorities You identified that the policing priorities for Oban South & the Isles area are as follows: 2. Road Safety You told us speeding motorists and other forms of antisocial driving were causing you concern. 3. Littering and fly tipping You are concerned about the littering and fly tipping that takes place in your area. 4. Antisocial Behaviour You have concerns about disorderly and drunken conduct of people in the town centre area. We have listened to your concerns and comments and hopefully you will have continued to see further improvements in Oban South & the Isles area. 1. Drug Dealing and Misuse You told us that drug misuse and drug dealing was of concern.

3 Our actions to date. Drug Dealing and Misuse We have acted upon community intelligence executing warrants at the targeted addresses where drug dealing is suspected. We continue to link in with local housing providers ACHA and WHHA to support tenancy action. Road Safety We have carried out targeted enforcement activity in the area working closely and sharing information with our specialist Road Policing colleagues to ensure our roads are safe and identified issues are dealt with through a joined up approach. Littering and Fly tipping We have worked closely with the local authority, land owners and bailiffs to prevent and detect those responsible for littering and fly tipping both in the community and areas of natural beauty utilised by wild campers. Antisocial Behaviour We have ensured officers patrol key locations at key times that have been identified through incident analysis and local knowledge working closely with licensed premises to carry out early intervention to prevent disorder and violence.

4 In the coming months. Drug Dealing and Misuse Be visible and accessible within the community to target drug suppliers and users utilising intelligence led policing to deter and detect offenders whilst linking in with partner agencies to combine education and enforcement strategies. Road Safety Maintain Hi-Visibility mobile patrols covering the rural road network. Continued focus on speeding motorists in local communities and A class roads utilising speeddetecting equipment. Educate road users for winter driving in adverse weather conditions. Littering and Fly tipping Lunchtime patrols with partner agencies in and around the town centre and other areas affected by litter. Support education based programmes highlighting the impact of litter and fly tipping on the community. Antisocial Behaviour Hi-Visibility mobile and foot patrols within the town centre concentrating on key locations and key times identified through incident analysis and local knowledge to prevent and detect acts of disorder and violence.
