3 Wellspring Bible Fellowship AWANA Club August, 2018 Hello! Welcome to another year of Awana at Wellspring Bible Fellowship! I want to thank you for placing your children in the Wellspring Bible Fellowship Awana Club. Our mission statement at Wellspring is Love Jesus, Reach the Lost, and Build the Church. We do this by intentionally influencing every relationship with the Gospel. Our Awana ministry is an extension of this mission statement, and it is our hope that the children who pass through this club will become fully devoted followers of Jesus Christ. Before we embark on another year of Bible adventure, I would like to encourage all parents of club members to be actively involved with their children as they complete their books. We can assist you in your family s spiritual journey, but the responsibility of instructing your child in spiritual matters rests with you. Because of this, please set aside time during each week to assist your child with Scripture memorization so he or she can have the opportunity to blossom into a mature Christian as they grow older. Remember, time is limited during Awana each week, so please have your child prepared to recite verses when he or she come to Awana. To assist you in registering for Awana this year, we have added the registration papers to our Wellspring Awana and Wellspring Kids Ministry Facebook pages. These are closed groups and you must request to be added. Bring completed papers to registration night filled out so your child will be ready to go for the new Awana year! We have great ministry opportunities. All that is required is a desire to serve God and watch children grow in their faith. If you are interested, please call Ed Roark at home (541) or church (541) or for texting (559) We are looking forward to another great year of working with your children! In Christ s Love, Commander Ed Roark

5 Child Pick-up policy Wellspring Bible Fellowship AWANA Club The Awana Club of Wellspring Bible Fellowship values the children placed into our care. We want to make sure that no harm comes to your child, and that they have an enjoyable time at our Awana Club. Except for the Cubbies, the Clubbers can be picked up in the Fireside Room at the end of club. Also, please follow these rules in picking up your clubber: 1. Children are not allowed to leave the Awana club by themselves and walk out to a waiting car. 2. Children may not be picked up by an older sibling. 3. If you have a medical condition or can t come into the church for any reason, we can arrange for a leader to walk your child to a waiting car. Thank You, The Awana Staff Covenant As a parent, I promise to diligently work together with church staff and volunteer Awana ministers to form an effective parent/church team to further the spiritual development of my child in the Awana program. As a parent or guardian, this means I promise to: 1. Show interest in my child s progress in Awana and give encouragement to my child when he or she faces challenges in the Awana program. 2. Do my best to see that my child arrives on time each Wednesday evening. 3. Set aside time each week to familiarize myself with where my child is working in his or her handbook and help my child memorize and understand the Scripture references and verses for the week. (Your child will be able to show you what he or she needs to accomplish in the handbook each week.) 4. After I have helped my child memorize their Scripture verse(s) for the coming week, I will do my best to listen to them recite their verse(s) at least two separate times before their upcoming Awana meeting. Child s Name Parent or Guardian Date Awana Commander Date

7 ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES FOR WELLSPRING AWANA CLUB MEMBERS These responsibilities have been established for child safety reasons and as a safeguard against losing articles: The children are not to be left unattended in the parking lot either before or after the meeting. (No exceptions) No children are to arrive before 6:15 pm. (unless prior arrangements have been made with their club leader). Awana staff will be in prayer and supervision will be unavailable. Any child feeling ill, or has a fever, will be sent home immediately using one of the emergency numbers you have given us. Cubbies will stay in their room from the time their club begins until their parent(s), or responsible adult picks them up. All Sparks and T&Ts are to be picked up in the Fireside Room after the meeting at 8:00 p.m. The clubbers are not to bring personal toys from home. They could get lost in the course of a club meeting. It is the responsibility of the person who brings the child to Awana Club to let the child s leader know if someone else will be picking up their child. All parents of Cubbies must file and sign a form with the Cubbies Director giving written permission to allow alternate adults to pick up their child(ren). Parents: Please put your child s name on all coats, jackets, sweater, caps, etc. All Children are to come to club wearing appropriate running shoes and clothing for game time. (No black or hard-soled shoes, flip-flops, or bare feet will be allowed on the gym floor.) Awana Club check-in begins at 6:15 p.m.. Please make arrangements to pick up our child no later than 8:00 p.m. The Cubbies Club is a two-year program, prior to starting kindergarten. The child entering the club must be at least three years of age by September 1st of the club year and needs to be potty trained. On very rare occasions, a club, with leaders present, may elect to participate in a brief outdoor activity that is on site and associated with the AWANA lesson. (example: an opportunity to see or ride a burro in observance of Palm Sunday). However, unless accompanied by a club leader, no clubber is to leave the church building during AWANA Club meetings. (No exceptions.) I have read & understand the above information, agree to accept, and comply with these responsibilities. Parent/Guardian s Signature: Date:
