I am also a Certified Holistic Health and Transformational Coach and a Certified Psychology of Eating Coach who believes that getting to the root of the health issue and healing not only the physical but the mind and spirit too creates true wellness and balance.

3 Our Approach To Total Wellness Our physical health, emotional wellness, and mental clarity are interdependent. A robust physical body creates a vessel for the development of emotional wellness and mental acuity. In turn, how we feel and how we think are manifested in our physical self. Our physical, emotional and mental wellness are supported by nutritious food, nurturing relationships, fulfilling career, and appropriate physical activities. When all three are being well cared for, they can work together to support our life vision and guide us to find our passion and fulfill our lives mission. 4 Build Your Physical Health Bio-individuality Each person has unique nutrition and lifestyle needs. One person s food is another person s poison, and that s why fad diets tend to fail in the long run. Every body is different so we need to respect our body s needs for example, some people do well on a vegetarian diet, while others may need some animal protein for them to function optimally. The best way to work with your body is to be mindful about the food you eat, and observe how you feel afterwards. That said, the basics still applies to pretty much everyone. By simply following these simple tips you will be on your way to having a healthy physical body: Support liver function and detoxification drink a glass of warm water with juice of half a lemon on an empty stomach first thing in the morning. Add some raw food raw food contains beneficial enzymes that support digestion and detoxification. Just adding a salad on the side, more sprouts and tomato on your sandwich, or a sprinkle of raw fruit on your oatmeal can go a long way. Reduce toxin exposure shop for organic produce (check out the dirty dozen list of produce that are most contaminated) and use personal and household products that contain as few chemical ingredients as possible. Drink water! Make sure you drink at least 8 glasses (to satiety and depending on climate and time of year) of non-caffeinated fluid everyday. Get most of them from filtered water and herbal tea, and minimize the consumption of soda (regular and diet), juice or other sweetened beverages. Choose physical activities that are appropriate for your body type. If you have not been exercising, taking a 30-minute walk around the block most days of the week can do a whole lot of good.

5 Support Your Emotional Wellness Food and Mood are definitely connected. For a few days, record what you eat and note how you feel during the next few hours. Notice how your mood is being affected by your food pay special attention to the type of carbohydrates, the amount of sugar, as well as the type and amount of protein in your meal. Here are a few ways to balance your emotions with nutrition and lifestyle changes: Eat these Top 10 Good Mood Foods : mung bean sprouts, lobster, turkey, asparagus, sunflower seeds, cottage cheese, pineapple, spinach, and bananas. Get some sun 15 minutes of sun (without sunscreen) everyday can get your skin to make enough vitamin D deficiency of which can result in depression. Sunlight also lifts your mood and wakes you up! Avoid foods that contain added processed sugar or processed carbohydratesprocessed carbohydrates are devoid of nutrients and they affect blood sugar level, which in turn can cause mood swings. Some people are gluten-intolerant and their brain chemistry can be affected after eating gluten-containing food. If you suspect you have such sensitivity, cut out all gluten-containing foods for two weeks, then gently add back in and observe your reaction. If you are experiencing severe emotional challenges such as depression or anxiety, you may want to look into amino acid therapy to help balance your brain chemistry. Work with Jacqueline to make sure it s done under proper supervision.

6 Boost Your Mental Clarity Our brain chemistry and the balance of neurotransmitters have a lot to do with our intelligence and our memory. Eating the right foods can supply the necessary nutrients that are precursors of these important neurotransmitters. And don t overlook the mindbody connection when it comes to mental clarity I have yet to meet someone who can think clearly while he or she is down with the flu! To remove your brain fog and start thinking clearly, try these simple tips: Get the right Omega-3 fatty acid/omega-6 balance cold-water fish, olive oil, grass-fed beef, bison, and wild game it is essential for proper brain function. Make sure to get some choline in the diet this nutrient helps enhance memory, and can be found in egg yolk and lecithin supplement. Avoid artificial sweeteners, especially aspartame (e.g. Equal), which is an excitotoxin and affects the functioning of the brain. Practice breathing exercise try Dr. Weil s technique: Beware of heavy metal exposure mercury from some fish, and lead from old paint and pipes. If you have plans to remove mercury fillings from your dental fillings, make sure you prepare your body by supporting your detox organs and follow up with proper chelation therapy.
