January 1995 Worked as UN Population Division s Chief Technical Advisor on Population Planning for the Ministry of Planning, Government of Lesotho. Duties included both population policy formulation and integrating population in development plans and policies. Specific activities were: a) Prepared Five - Year Population Plan ( ) as a part of the Fifth Fiveyear Development plan of Lesotho. b) Prepared long term Population Policy and make series of Population Projections on various assumptions. c) Prepared and published 1991 and 1994 Lesotho Population Data Sheet. d) Helped Ministries in integrating population variables in their respective sector plans. e) Conducted Population Development Workshops for senior officials of the Government and other agencies. f) Guided and supervised eight population Policy and Population and Development related researches. g) Imprated in-house staff-training on demography, statistics and research methods, and h) Arranged both long and short term training program for the officers of the Dept. at the overseas Universities and Strengthening the Dept. with data processing equipment and taught them how to use population related software.

(i) Apart from resource allocation Project processing for approval, two significant works done during this period are; (ii) Prepared participatory perspective plan for population sector. (iii) Prepared population projection for 25 years for the preparation of perspective plan by the Planning Commission and uses of the data by rest of the Government. (iv) Prepared the 5 th Five-year plan on Population and Family Welfare Sector ( ), Bangladesh Planning Commission, Dhaka As a development planner, I have written population plan in four successive FY plans linking population with other development sectors such as health, education, women s development, mass media, NGOs etc. Strategic resource planning, budget preparation for various programmes, projects and especially aid negotiation with donors keeping in view the development thrust and sectoral priority are key aspects of my responsibilities. An all of my works, I have involved high officials, key actors in both public and NGOs and thus, I have gained considerable experience in working through various committees. I have worked as chairperson, member-secretary and member of many sectroal and multi-sectoral and NGO organizations on the basis of the professional standing.
