1 Updates in Clinical and Surgical Gynecology October 21, am 3 pm Prentice Women s Hospital 250 E. Superior St. Third Floor, Conference Room L South Chicago, Illinois
2 Agenda Updates in Clinical and Surgical Gynecology Friday, October 21, :00 am Breakfast and Registration Course directors Angela Chaudhari, MD and Susan C. Tsai, MD There have been several recent advances in the treatment as well as terminology of patients with various gynecologic conditions. Given the specialized nature of these diseases, it is difficult for the community physician in clinical practice to maintain up-to-date knowledge regarding the diagnosis and treatment of these conditions. Healthcare providers lack strategies for applying this new knowledge into their clinical and surgical gynecological practice. This educational program is focused toward healthcare professionals involved in the care of patients with gynecologic disease. Various areas of clinical and surgical gynecology will be covered, and potential changes in patient management will be discussed. Our guest speaker, Tommaso Falcone, MD, Professor of Surgery at Cleveland Clinic Lerner College of Medicine of Case Western Reserve University and Chairman of the Department of Obstetrics- Gynecology at Cleveland Clinic, will join the informal and interactive discussion. Program objectives After attending this educational activity, participants should be able to: Review surgical management techniques in all stages of endometriosis. Describe current treatment modalities both medical and surgical in endometrial intraepithelial neoplasia Review surgical management of prolapse Recognize and assess ovarian reserve in the infertile couple Apply treatment modalities in menopausal genitourinary syndrome Review and apply current evidence of HPV testing and HPV vaccines Identify key areas of a successful practice in the current health care environment 8:45 am Welcome Serdar E.
