3 NATIONAL HEALTH MISSION MAJOR MILE STONES 1992-child survival and safe motherhood program RCH I RCH II National Rural Health Mission 2013-RMNCH + A Strategy 2014-India New born Action Plan
4 GOALS 1 Reduce MMR to 1 in Reduce IMR to 25 / Reduce TFR to Prevention and reduction of anaemia in age 15 to 19 years to 28 % 5 Prevention and reduction of mortality and morbidity from communicable and non-communicable diseases and injuries
5 Under NHM initiatives taken to reduce MMR are Promotion of institutional deliveries through Janani Suraksha Yojana Capacity building of health care providers in basic and comprehensive obstetric care Operationalisation of subcentres, phcs, chcs and district hospitals for providing 24 *7basic comprehensive obstetric care services Main web based tracking of pregnant women to ensure antenatal, intranatal and postnatal care.
6 Recent new initiatives: Rashtriya Bal Swasthya Karyakram Rastriya Kishore Swasthya Karyakram Weekly Iron and Folic acid Supplimentation Program
7 ANC, INC and PNC including iron and folic acid supplementation to pregnant and lactating mother Health and nutrition education to promote dietary diversification and to include iron and folic rich food Janani suraksha shishu karyakram to provide absolutely free services for delivery including caesarean sections, lab facilities, food,transport from home to institution and drop back home 184 high priority districts have been prioritized under RMNCH +A to improve MCH.
8 Universal immunization programme Mother and child tracking system Bala Svastya karyakram
9 Various international agencies like WHO,UNICEF, UNFPA,WORLD BANK and other foreign agencies like DANIDA, SIDA, NORAD, USAID have been providing technical and material assistance in the implementation of these programs.
10 NRHM April 5 th Improve rural health care delivery system 18 states Bihar,Jharkand,madhyapradesh,Chattisgarh Uttarpradesh,Uttaranchal,Orissa Rajasthan, Assam,Arunachal pradesh,manipur,meghalaya,mizoram,nagaland,sikkim and Tripura,Himachal pradesh,jammu and Kashmir.
