In this chapter we try t answer in terms f the Twelfth Step and the Tenth Chapter: we try t practice these principles in all ur affairs, and mre is revealed t us as we g frward. But the truth is that recvery isn t always an easy prcess; there are crises and bstacles we all face, at sme time r anther. Fr sme f us wh are the ldest-timers in ur areas, recvery can smetimes feel pretty lnely - even when we re in the middle f the fellwship. Finding the spark that makes recvery an nging, rewarding and exciting jurney requires an active change in ur ideas and attitudes nt just nce, but again and again. Chapter 1. Our recvery is a cnstant prcess f accepting urselves and changing urselves, and this chapter seeks t describe sme f the ways that we get cmfrtable with urselves and the peple arund us, and begin t let g f what n lnger fits. Our recvery is based in relatinships, but mst f us struggle with them in ne way r anther. Our relatinships with ne anther in the rms, with the families we cme frm and the families we create, are all places where we learn t practice the principles. Creating healthy relatinships with healthy bundaries utside f the rms is anther area where we may lk t ne anther s experience fr guidance. Chapter 5. Scial acceptability des nt equal recvery, t be sure, but that desn t mean they re mutually exclusive, either: fr many f us it is smething we must learn alng the way. Our wrk habits and ur beliefs abut wrk, educatin, mney and stability change and grw as we stick arund smetimes in surprising ways. Learning t deal with success and failure, with risk and respnsibility, with stability and change are all part f the prcess sme f us call grwing up in recvery. Chapter 6. We endure the lss f fellw members and smetimes f ur lved nes, and learn t live thrugh grief. We als find that the drama that nce engaged s much f ur time and energy n lnger takes up as much rm in ur lives.
