President s Notes Happy Thanksgiving! Pardon our technical issue on the October newsletter, it s on the web if you want to review it. As we roll into the final two months of 2018 show opportunities will become scarce but we have our Christmas party to look forward to in December. It s the 15 th, on a Saturday night (that s different from the past) at Hillcrest again. Also, thanks again to Ronnie for his connection for the main party room. We will make menu selections this meeting so please be there if you want to help with meal selection. The club will decide costs, etc and amount of this year s scholarship funds. As a reminder for the party we will select officers for the coming year and please consider being an officer. It s not that much work, especially when you have a great team that we have now, but a few of us would like a little break. We definitely need an events person(s). It works very well to have a husband/wife team in that position. Please remember to pick up a door prize, around $10 (or more if you want) so that everyone can win in HORSE. We will vote on buying a specific amount of gifts, usually $200 300 to make sure we have enough. Also, we will continue to support Christmas for Kids campaign so bring a gift for kids age 1-15 years and these will go to Children s protective services for many kids in foster care that don t qualify for other gift possibilities. One last note, if finances are an issue for the attendance at the Christmas party please let an officer know. Don t let that keep you from attending. It can be done and arranged for privately. A reminder that November 1 st is the FIRST Thursday of the month so don t let that slip by, we need your support at this month s meeting. Meeting Minutes for October 1. President John Robinson was not at the meeting. Chuck conducted the meeting. 2. Minutes were not present of the last meeting----tommy was not at the meeting--he recorded last month s meeting. They were approved. 3. Jeff gave a report on the funeral for Peggy Sue. She died last Monday and her funeral will be Oct. 13 th at 2:00 at Lake Ridge. We voted to send flowers ($125.00). 4. Bullitt Mustang show, Steve McQueen release Sunday/Tuesday 2 & 7 at movie 16. It was a great turn out at Buns Over Texas and thanks to them for the hamburgers and hotdogs. 5. No report from Dennis on MCA. 6. Chuck talked about several trophies left over from our car show. 7. Shallowater Harvest Festival will be October 6th. 8. We tabled the request from the Windmill Center until next month because we did not have enough members present to vote on their request. 9. Gordon has a friend that has several Edsels for sale. 10. We only had 14 members present with two new members--david & Denise Rosenthal. Welcome to the Lubbock Mustang Club family. 11.
