Central YMCA Family Center GET UP & GO PROGRAM Prepare your child for a healthy and active life! The Get Up & Go program is a weight-management program from Children s Health and the Y. In this fun nine-week program, kids and their families will learn about nutrition and how to make healthy food choices, and participate in fun physical activities. Instruction will empower families to reduce the chance of serious illnesses like diabetes and heart disease. Classes are offered for children ages 2-14. Cooper Street YMCA Family Center TEEN PERSONAL TRAINING Our nationally certified personal trainers will provide motivation and support to help youth improve their physical fitness, health and overall quality of life. For ages 13-16. LIVESTRONG AT THE YMCA A 12-week research-based program that supports cancer survivors to regain their physical, emotional and spiritual strength. This health and wellness exercise program is conducted in a small group environment that includes individualized attention for each participant. NUTRITION COACHING Fine-tune your eating habits by signing up for the YMCA s nutrition coaching program. Whether you re trying to lose weight, improve your sports performance, or get help with age-related issues such as diabetes or heart disease, nutrition coaching will give you the jump start you need to start a new healthy living lifestyle. For more information contact sandyw@amaymca.org North YMCA Family Center CPR CLASS A blended learning course designed to prepare participants with the knowledge to perform CPR. Class includes CPR and AED training, first aid and oxygen administration. Open to the public. YMCA DIABETES PREVENTION PROGRAM A one-year program that offers guidelines for adopting healthy lifestyles and preventive measures for developing type 2 diabetes. Wellness Consultations and our 6-Week Fitness Program are FREE for all members and are recommended upon signing up for membership. Free Youth Wellness Classes Youth ages 10-13 meet with a personal trainer to learn important healthy lifestyles skills and review facility rules and guidelines for safety in the fitness center. Class includes education on age appropriate equipment, nutrition, and how to develop a fitness routine. Upon completion of the class, participants ages 10-11 may workout with a parent in the fitness center and participants ages 12-13 may use fitness equipment without parent. Group Exercise Group exercise is an opportunity to be involved in a small or large class setting. A YMCA staff will provide instructions to engage members in exercise while focusing on stress management, flexibility and living a healthy lifestyle. NATURE EXPLORERS YMCA Father/Child Program Princess Nation Father/Daughter Pairs 3-year old 3rd Grade Guides Nation Father/Son Pairs 3-year old 3rd Grade KIDZONE Ages 8-weeks to 12-years KidZone, or child watch while you workout, is a service available to all family memberships with children 8-weeks to 12-years-old. KidZone is provided for parents at all family centers for a maximum of 3 hours. KidZone is fully supervised by trained staff who are all First Aid and CPR certified. For times, please contact any YMCA family center. PARENT'S NIGHT OUT Enjoy a day or night on the town and we'll keep the kids! Parents Night Out is available on certain Saturdays of the month at each family center.
