One big kids programme! Aberdeen Sports Village has a wide and varied programme with lots of activities and opportunities to suit children and young people of all abilities. Our programme will inspire and encourage your children to grow up leading a healthy and active lifestyle all in a fun environment! Tots at ASV caters for 0-5 year olds Kids at ASV caters for children from P1 P7 Teens at ASV caters for young people in S1 S6 We have a special programme for children and young people with disabilities. Tots at ASV Our parent and child programme is designed especially for youngsters from birth until they reach school age. It uses innovative and inspiring activities led by our friendly coaches to help youngsters develop a wide range of skills and a love of sport, whilst enabling parents to bond with their children. Born to Move Combining a motivating and scientificallyproven mix of age-appropriate movement with music, these Les Mills classes will captivate toddlers and will fuel a life-long love of physical activity along the way. Fitstars Inspirational and educational activities designed to develop motor skills such as jumping and throwing, and skills for sport in young children using a mixture of imaginary play, engaging themes and eye-catching equipment. Gymnastics Our fun-filled circuit-based gymnastics sessions enable children to develop flexibility, strength, balance, coordination and movement skills whilst exploring our age-appropriate apparatus with parents in a friendly and recreational environment. Parent and Child Yoga This fun and calm activity provides a great opportunity for parents and children to bond. It enables young children to relax and develop awareness of themselves and the world around them. Run, Jump & Throw Great for youngsters with lots of energy, this class will give your child the chance to experience all types of athletics disciplines and is a great way to help them prepare for any sport. Sensory Play A range of engaging activities for young children to discover using sight, sound and touch. Curious youngsters and their parents will have lots of fun exploring our noisy, tactile and visually stimulating equipment. Trampoline Have loads of bouncing around whilst our coaches take you and your child through a series of movements and games to help your child develop trampoline skills, balance, coordination and muscle tone. Kids at ASV For school-aged children of all abilities, we offer a varied programme to enable them to develop sport-specific skills and improve their abilities in a fun, relaxed, recreational environment. Our specialist coaches use engaging and age-appropriate activities to encourage children to progress through their chosen sports, make friends and have fun. Aqua Run Take on the challenge to complete our exhilarating water-based obstacle course! Children will need to demonstrate swimming competence prior to taking part. This activity takes place in deep water Athletics Our recreational athletics sessions are the entry pathway to Aberdeen Amateur Athletics Club. Young children will develop run, jump and throw skills, and older children can progress through the various athletics disciplines. Badminton This popular racket sport enables children to develop a range of skills including hand-eye coordination. They ll have loads of fun completing energetic games and developmental activities. All equipment is provided. Gymnastics Using our range of age-appropriate equipment, children will develop skills used in artistic gymnastics including balance, coordination, strength, flexibility, power and rotation, with a focus on floor, vault and balance beam disciplines. Racketball This energetic version of squash uses a larger ball and shorter racket, and will really get kids moving. Our sessions develop coordination, endurance and agility and feed into ASV Squash Club. Running Club These run-specific athletics sessions will help your child increase their distance, improve their endurance and learn how to pace themselves effectively. A must for children who like to enter fun runs & junior races. Table Tennis Our recreational athletics sessions are the entry pathway to Aberdeen Amateur Athletics Club. Young children will develop run, jump and throw skills, and older children can progress through the various athletics disciplines. Trampoline A great sport for developing muscle tone and balance. Children will enjoy learning progressive skills on our Olympic-standard trampolines, including shapes, twists, body landings and routines through a range of drills and games. Yoga Yoga assists the promotion of mental and physical calm and aids concentration. It helps children begin to cultivate a positive balance and awareness between self-image and the world around them. Teens at ASV For secondary-aged young people, our Teens programme provides a huge variety of sport and exercise opportunities where teens develop fitness and improve their skills in sport. Taking part in sport and physical activity will enable young people to develop confidence as they transition into adulthood and become an ASV Lifestyle member! Our qualified, experienced fitness consultants will use a range of age & stage-appropriate exercises to help provide the building blocks to great sports performance. Studio Cycling Cycle along to the beat of the latest chart toppers whist improving your aerobic fitness and muscle tone. A great fun, traditional group exercise class that caters for all fitness levels. Table Tennis The most popular racket sport in the world! Our sessions provide teens with quality coaching to help develop their skills. These sessions feed into ASV s Table Tennis Academy. Teen Gym/Teen HIT Teens aged 13 15 can keep fit and healthy using our Gym s state-of-the-art cardiovascular and conditioning equipment under the watchful eye of our Fitness Consultants. Teens will be given clear guidance on how to use a range of equipment from treadmills and rowing machines, to bikes, cross trainers and fixed resistance equipment. For a more exhilarating experience, join our Teen HIT sessions, which makes use of our Synrgy360 adult playground to really get teens working hard! Parasport at ASV Additional activities ASV has designed a range of activities to cater especially for people with physical, sensory and learning disabilities and their families. Additionally, our Tots, Kids & Teens programmes are inclusive for those with disabilities. To discuss specific needs of someone you care for, please get in touch. Inclusive Circuits A relaxed circuit class designed to create an enjoyable exercise environment for adults with disabilities and their carers. This session takes place in an enclosed studio without music. Numbers are strictly limited, exercises are uncomplicated, and the structure is replicated week to week. Multi Sports Club A whole host of adapted traditional and innovative sports designed to develop skills for sport and soft skills such as communication, team working, turn taking, confidence and leadership in a friendly, informal atmosphere. RaceRunning A liberating athletics discipline for those with physical disabilities affecting the lower body. Our purpose-built bikes help participants propel themselves along the track in a running motion, whilst sessions develop speed & balance. Sensory Play A range of fun activities especially for those with profound or multiple disabilities including parachute games, exploration of inflatable and tactile equipment, giant board games, Boccia & New Age Kurling, and much more.
