MINDY FOX PTSD and Depression SANTA MONICA AND TORRANCE, CA

50 s / MALE Background Three years of treatment for attachment disorder Chronic PTSD and depression stemming from severe childhood neglect Abandonment and emotional abuse ADD also present Very bright, job is very intellectually stimulating In therapy since age 30, very cynical about getting well Ready to give up, very negative No medications Wife, at her wits end, forced him to go to the Amen clinic, neurofeedback was recommended

Background Wife reports rage and defensiveness Depression and anxiety Emotional reactivity Can t get anything done Distrustful Paranoid Fear of criticism and judgment Socially isolated No friends Spouse is best friend Procrastinates Misses work deadlines Perfectionism Disorganized Bored Bad short term memory Unmotivated

What I Did OPTIMIZED IN 2012 WITH ONE CHANNEL Frequency.1 T3-T4 for panic attacks, headaches, dissociative episodes Sensitivity to light, odors, sounds, touch This is before HD ADDED T4-P4 FOR: Childhood trauma Night terrors Waking up with heart pounding Can t fall asleep at night Wakes up all night long Back pain and muscle tension

What I Did 20 sessions Begins to wake up without any panic Fall asleep faster Still up several times at night but can fall back to sleep easier Less emotionally reactive More at ease and resilient Still complains of ADD symptoms

What I Did ADD T3FP1.2 Reports negative thoughts went away and less depression AFTER 40 SESSIONS Executive function is improving and sleeps well 3 to 4 nights a week AFTER 50 SESSIONS Hives and rashes clear up Still waking up sad and depressed, but no anxiety AFTER 60 SESSIONS Feels more stable Sleep is fine Less disassociation Still bothered by family issues START ALPHA THETA Reports less concern with what others think Less shame Lower back stopped hurting Feels he can let down his guard

What I Did 2013 reoptimize with 1 channel HD.15 Add T4-Fp2 which helps reduce shame. Add T4-T6 for facial recognition. Does not recognize even his relatives. Recommend evaluation for Irlen syndrome, but does not follow through. Do AT once a month to help the perfectionism/self critical voices, per client s decision. After 20 sessions feels less defensive, anxiety and depression gone most of the time. More access to feelings, can be vulnerable Less fragile More social Talking to co-workers Feels more competent at work Getting things done so wife is happy It's ok if I'm not perfect.

What I Did After 100 sessions Says he can catch himself and not disassociate More at peace with the world like another layer of the depression lifted Less anger Feels he is processing his childhood and integrating it Less shame Recognizing faces better Work is much better More confident and accomplished

What I Did Do some EMDR for about 15 sessions AT SESSION 160 RE-OPTIMIZE 2 CHANNEL ILF HD AT.01 Could not double T3-Fp1 Stopped talking about his family DID 15 SESSIONS AND STOPPED TREATMENT IN JAN. 2016 Reports executive function is much better feels very competent life is actually fun I can set limits and take care of myself Feels very positive, a complete turn around!

Outcome May, 2017 came back in because ADD is coming back Still feels positive and happy, very little anxiety Reoptimize to.005 and T3-Fp1 at.01 Only had two sessions ADD symptoms better Recommend evaluation for Irlen s syndrome Light sensitivity/continued difficulty with facial recognition

Lessons Learned I learned to stick with the training over a long period of time, and the brain will heal itself It can be up and down, especially with such severe symptoms, but the over all positive effect gets stronger and stronger over time, so be patient I learned to really ask questions and listen to the client so as to address all the issues they are struggling with Towards the end, client did not need to talk much, even after alpha theta sessions The training just did it s job!
