BEYOND THE BASICS April 20-22, 2018, Dallas October 19-21, 2018, Orlando Course Description and Intended Audience Beyond the Basics has been expanded to a 3 day program, with the addition of current practice guidelines, anatomy and dissection lab, enhanced fluoroscopy/cine instruction, and more time for electrogram review. In addition there are case studies which include more discussion of electroanatomical mapping. Content on arrhythmogenesis, treatment modalities, and supraventricular and ventricular arrhythmias has been updated. The recommended audience for this course is those with at least 6 months of electrophysiology lab, office, or industry experience. Conference Objectives Upon completion of this program the learner will be able to... Identify sinus rhythm, atrial pacing and extrastimulus testing, and ventricular pacing and extrastimulus testing in an electrophysiologic study. List the steps included in analysis of an electrogram. Label the anatomical features of a dissected heart. Correlate fluoroscopic and electroanatomical mapping findings to the anatomy of the heart. Discuss rationale for arrhythmia treatment with drugs, ablation, and devices. List findings which lead to the diagnosis of supraventricular rhythms during the EP study. Discuss techniques used during EP testing for supraventricular rhythm studies. Discuss treatment aspects in the management of atrial fibrillation. Be familiar with the diagnostic features and sub-types of ventricular tachycardia. Identify the high risk ventricular disorders and indications for ICD implantation.
