Health and wellbeing steering group Established July 2015 2 Trust Directors are joint leads for the strategy and Chair steering group Staff representatives from across the hospital, Unison representative and external stakeholders including County Council Responsible for developing our health and wellbeing strategy and annual health and wellbeing programme
Health and wellbeing survey First step - to find out about our staff s health and wellbeing so we could develop and assess effectiveness of programmes and measure improvements Inform what we need to do next Working with external partners, our aim was to improve access to activities to help improve fitness, mental health and wellbeing
Workstreams Survey identified key areas we needed to address Three workstreams created: Nutrition and fitness Smoking cessation Mental wellbeing
Health and wellbeing strategy Launched 4 th April 2016 Sets out our overall direction and aspiration of becoming a health and wellbeing campus Provided opportunities for staff to learn more about our plans to improve their health and wellbeing
Branding and Promotion Having a clear brand helps support our messaging Provides a signpost to staff when promoting our health and wellbeing initiatives Display boards, dedicated intranet pages, regular features in staff weekly bulletin, monthly health and wellbeing newsletter
Nutrition Introduced under 500 calorie meals in our main restaurant Installed two healthy options vending machines Healthy eating options available in all our food outlets
Partnership Partnership with Northampton Leisure Trust (Trilogy) New facilities Discounted staff membership
Fitness 12 week nutrition and fitness programme Results from the first programme: Average weight loss 3.6 kg per person Average waist measurement down by 3.35 inches Second programme now underway
Global Corporate Challenge (GCC) First participated in 2015 21 teams, 147 employees Overall our teams racked up a total of 176,848,326 steps Trust taking part in the 2016 GCC
Northants Sports Business Games 5 sports challenges: - netball - walking - football - bowls - touch rugby NGH won the Team Challenge...... and came third in the Business Games overall this year
