With peak periods of 51.88 inches, Harvey is the wettest tropical cyclone on record in the contagious US. The storm has displaced hundreds and thousands of homes and 30,000 people not to mention the loss of lives of children, pets and livestock. Our prayers go out to everyone. So how can we help? Several Lion members have already made donations. Lion Marsha will be providing some contact information in our bulletin. The LCI will be making a $100,000 donation. All of your voices should be heard All of our random acts of kindness counts. So Lions do what it takes. Reach out in what small way you can. Thanks for letting me serve Until we meet again See you on the 12 th of September. The Lion s Tale Bulletin September 7, 2017 6 Lion Don Isaacs Veterans Fishing Trip Lions Veterans Charities, Inc. (4-C4) took 14 veterans from Ft. Miley VA and Menlo Park on "The Lion Don Isaacs Veterans Fishing Trip" on August 15, 2017. The veterans thoroughly enjoyed the trip. For many of them, it was their first trip. The veterans managed to catch 8 fish. For the first time, the club invited all three VA Hospitals and all planned on sending veterans but, Palo Alto had to cancel due to last minute conflicts. It was also the first Veterans Fishing Trip funded entirely by a Lion, Don Isaacs of Foster City Lions Club. Even though the veterans caught a few salmon, Lion Don and Kris received some fresh salmon steaks and, through the other supporters of the club, fresh Yellowtail Tuna steaks! Due to the tremendous support for these projects, the club is now planning a Disabled Veterans Fishing Program this coming Spring, for the many veterans who have been unable to go on these trips. More information will be provided as the club develops details on this new adventure.
