The International Academy for Rotary Endodontics (IARE) The International Academy for Rotary Endodontics is an organization of dentists who strive to render state of the art endodontic treatment with the latest techniques and materials that have a sound scientific basis. A Fellowship of the Academy is offered to Endodontists/dentists who seek excellence, have achieved it and can provide the supporting documentation. Fellowships are available to Endodontists and dentists who have an active interest in endodontics and whose practice involves a good number of endodontic cases. All Fellows and applicants for Fellowship are expected to adhere to the professional and ethical standards of the IARE, without compromise. Requirements for Fellowship in the International Academy for Rotary Endodontics (Effective 2006) a. Graduation from a dental school recognized by the Dental Council of India or equivalent body of another country. If an applicant has a current dental practice that establishes him/ her as an endodontic specialist, supporting documentation must also accompany the application; b. Submission of a complete and accurate application to the Academy; c. Conformance with the ethical principles and professional conduct determined by an appropriate committee. Conformance will be based upon information obtained from Fellows who were consulted as references and from other sources; d. Professional proficiency as determined by an appropriate training centre and supported by a certificate of training in rotary endodontic systems; e. Submission of ten root canal cases using a rotary instrumentation system (with full radiographs). Complete records of treatment must be included with at least the following information: any relevant medical history, pulpal and periapical diagnoses and justification for the root canal treatment; how coronal flaring was achieved, the rotary system used for canal instrumentation, working length and how determined, the final apical size, the obturation technique/system, and the number of appointments; (DOWNLOAD sample submission to see details from our website, also see the reasons for rejection) f. Application Process for Fellowship August 1 and Dec 1 of each year is the deadline for Fellowship applications (new or renewals) to be on file at the IARE office at Belgaum. Applicants for Fellowship are required to furnish all information considered necessary for the review and evaluation of their endodontic practice. They should also be willing to undergo an evaluation of their practice by their peers. The IARE Admissions Committee will decide whether the requirements for membership are satisfied and will make the final decision regarding the applicant s eligibility for Fellowship. It may, at its discretion, defer any application until all requirements are met. The application process is as follows: a. Submit a completed application and include the application fee; b. Sign an agreement to abide by the rules and regulations of IARE; c. Provide as references, the names of two Fellows of the IARE (or your collegues) who know the applicant. References may be asked to complete a questionnaire evaluating the applicant s ability to provide quality endodontic treatment, as well as the applicant s professional and ethical standing in the community. Note: Fellows of the IARE may request a Fellowship application process be initiated or a dentist who, in their opinion, qualifies for Fellowship. The Committee may, at any time, modify the requirements for Fellowship. Evaluation of Applicants for Fellowship Evaluation of applicants for Fellowship is based on information relating to the applicant s endodontic experience, professional competence and ethical conduct. Such information is obtained from the application, from the references provided by the applicant, from the IARE committee, and from other relevant sources. Incomplete applications will be returned and the applicant will be invited to submit a completed application for consideration the following year. IARE respects the privacy of the applicant and provides information concerning the status of an application only to the applicant or those involved in the evaluation. In some instances, IARE may request an interview with the applicant. When this occurs, the committee constituted for this purpose will provide a written report and recommendations to the IARE regarding the applicant s eligibility for Fellowship.
After carefully reviewing and evaluating all information, IARE will make one of three decisions: 1. Approved for Fellowship; 2. Postponed for Fellowship six months. This will give the applicant an opportunity to acquire further knowledge or additional experience; 3. Denied Fellowship. Following a denial, an applicant may submit a new application after a waiting period of one year. Successful applicants will be granted Fellowship by the Chairman of IARE and so notified by letter by December/March 31 of the subsequent to the application submission. Fellowship will be awarded in March of the following year, by an eminent person. Fees 1. Application Fee (Rs. 2500/- / Euro 100): to accompany an application for Fellowship. It covers a portion of the cost of reviewing and processing the application and is not refundable. No application will be processed without the fee. 2. Fellowship Fee (Rs. 10,000/- / Euro 250) requested when an applicant is selected for Fellowship. It covers the cost of a Certificate and other costs associated with the process of Fellowship. A statement requesting payment will be sent to the selected applicants and is due by February 1 of the appropriate year. 3. Annual Dues (Rs.1000/-): amount to be determined by the Executive Committee. In India the fees is payable by a DD in favor of S. Goel, at Belgaum. Fellowship Pledge I recognize that the International Academy for Rotary Endodontics seeks to develop and exemplify the highest traditions of Endodontics. I hereby pledge, as a condition of membership, to live in strict accordance with its principles and regulations. I pledge to pursue the practice of Endodontics to the best of my ability and honesty and to place the welfare of my patient above all else. I promise to deal with each patient, as I myself would like to be dealt with, if I were in the patient s position. I will devote my best efforts to advance my knowledge and skills in endodontics, to respect my colleagues, and to seek their opinion when in doubt. I will also willingly help my colleagues when requested. By virtue of my acceptance as a Fellow in the International Academy for Rotary Endodontics, I solemnly pledge to cooperate in advancing and extending the art and science of Endodontics to the best of my ability.
