Title: Haemoglobin Estimation Camp Organized By: Yashwantrao Bhonsale College of D. Pharmacy. Venue: DCP-II Classroom Date & Time: 8 th Aug. 2018, 03 :00 Pm To 05:00 Pm Program Coordinator: Mr. M. R. Redkar. Program Advisor: Mr. T. G. Rukari. Introduction: The measurement of haemoglobin has long been recognized as fundamental in routine health checkup for the diagnosis and treatment of disease and given the global incidence of anaemia, in public health care. Anaemia is the serious cause of iron deficiency and significant cause of death. More than half of the pregnant women in developing countries suffer from anaemia. The accurate estimation of haemoglobin level is an essential prerequisite in variety of other health issues such as trauma care, selection of blood donors, epidemiological examinations and general primary health care. By keeping in mind this serious issue of society the Yashwantrao Bhonsale College of D. Pharmacy was organized the haemoglobin estimation camp for providing an opportunity to the students to gain practical skills and be exposed to the social activity as a part of National Service Scheme. Objective: To understand effective planning and implementation for setting goals and achieving both personal and professional goals. Interaction and awareness program for the community. Hands on, authentic anatomical laboratory experiences. Preparation and submission of reports.

About the program: Anaemia is the world s second most common cause of disability even nonsevere anaemia is associated with increased stillbirths, low-birth-weight babies and intellectual and physical impairment in children. Anaemia is therefore one of the most serious, but relatively neglected, health problems. It is neglected because compared to other major public health problems, such as HIV/AIDS, malaria and TB. Fieldwork is the most essential part of the social work, education and training. Taking an overview of the present situation of the fieldwork training, its nature, scope, professionalization, problems and difficulties and the needs, Fieldwork practicum is a closely supervised educational internship in a social work setting that provides planned opportunities to apply theory taught in class-work to actual situations, which, in turn, enhances classroom learning. Yashwantrao Bhonsale College of D. Pharmacy was grab the opportunity to conduct a haemoglobin estimation camp as a part of full bright NSS activity held on 08 August 2018 at 03:00 Pm in classroom of DCP- II. The class was divided into different committees to look after different aspects of the camp. The program was start with the inaugural movement which is done by ribbon cutting ceremony with the auspicious hands of Mr. Tushar G. Rukari, Principal, Yashwantrao Bhonsale College of D. At the beginning of program, Mr. Tushar Rukari interacted with the volunteer on the aspects of haemoglobin estimation, their needs, causes, methodologies of estimation etc. Haemoglobin estimation camp was start with evaluating the blood sample of Mr. Tanmay Patwardhan sir by first group volunteer. For the said program Total 152 members were scrutinized by the volunteers including faculties and students (Polytechnic and Pharmacy) of BKC campus. It was observed that from scrutinized candidates who participated in the camp, 136 were having normal Hemoglobin level. The event was successfully completed with the guidelines given by Mr. Mayuresh (NSS Co-coordinator), Ms. Namita Bhosale (Academic Incharge), Ms. Priti Patle Gautam (Dept. of Pharmacology) and Ms. Mahajan S.
