Transplant Highlights Transplantation Total Transplants 1,256 As of March 31, 2017, there were 1,556 Ontarians waiting for a lifesaving transplant 1,256 Total Transplants 242 Living Donor Transplants 1,014 Deceased Donor Transplants Enhanced capacity of provincial teams to ensure timely organ recovery Partnered with Ontario Renal Network to develop educational materials for health care providers and patients and enhance communication between transplant centres and renal programs In collaboration with the University Health Network (UHN), launched the Pancreas for Islet Transplant Program Launched collection of additional pre- and post-transplant data to facilitate reporting of patient outcomes Supported improvements in patient centred care through development of the Clinical Handbooks for Transplantation Ryley Mitchell, heart recipient and Canadian Transplant Games participant, and Michael Galego, TGLN Board member, pose together. 2 Trillium Gift of Life Network Highlights Report 2016/17

Tissue Highlights Tissue Donation Ocular Donors 2,217 Multi-Tissue Donors 183 Tissue Consent Rate (Percentage) 51 183 Multi-Tissue Donations 31 Heart Valve Donations 97 Bone Donations 55 Skin Donations Partnered with the Office of the Chief Coroner of Ontario to expand the Coroner s Referral and Screening Program across the GTA PLUS developed a pilot referral and screening program with EMS in Prescott-Russell Restructuring of tissue system to consolidate all tissue recovery services under TGLN In-situ corneal recovery expanded to southwest and eastern Ontario in 2016/17 leading to improved tissue quality and corresponding surgical outcomes Tissue program restructuring to enhance service delivery and facilitate more timely ocular tissue recoveries Clinical specialists and TGLN employees perform multi-tissue recovery simulation training. 4 Trillium Gift of Life Network Highlights Report 2016/17

Registration Highlights BeADonor month saw 28,074 new registrations highest ever recorded for April 249,335 new registrations in 2016/17 increasing registration rate to 31% by end of year 15 urban centres have registrations rates of 40% or higher Collaborated with ServiceOntario to rollout a more simplified donor registration form TGLN Advocate Summit hosted 200 OTDT advocates to share ideas, build skills and celebrate organ and tissue donation Sponsorship of and media office for the Canadian Transplant Games A total of 1,282 news items referring to TGLN with a reach of more than 100 million 90,000 Facebook fans and more than 4,500 Twitter followers Support for more than 250 community advocate led events in 2016/17 Donor Family Blue Jays game event at the Roger's Centre. 5 Trillium Gift of Life Network Highlights Report 2016/17

Quality and Information Management Highlights Enhanced charting process to standardize clinical notes ensuring fewer input errors and more timely chart completion Successful audits at seven external serological laboratories, three external organ recovery programs and at TGLN head office Completion of offsite data centre, to ensure continuity of critical IT services The system came together not once, but twice, to save my life.
