These components contain no substances or impurities which influence the classification of this product. SECTION 4. FIRST AID MEASURES Emergency Overview: This material may reduce the clotting ability of the blood and cause bleeding. Symptoms of toxicity include lethargy, loss of appetite, reduced clotting ability of blood and bleeding. Have the product label with you when obtaining treatment advice. EYES: Hold eye open and rinse slowly and gently with water for 15-20 minutes. Remove contact lenses, if present, after the first 5 minutes, then continue rinsing eye. Call a poison control center or doctor for treatment advice. SKIN: Rinse skin with plenty of water for 15-20 minutes. Wash clothing before reuse. Get medical attention. INHALATION: No anticipated need for first aid measures. INGESTION: Call a poison control center or doctor for treatment advice. Have person sip a glass of water if able to swallow. Do not induce vomiting unless told to do so by a poison control center or a doctor. Never give anything by mouth to an unconscious person. NOTE TO PHYSICIAN OR VETERINARIANS: This product contains anticoagulants with an effect similar to warfarin in that they act by interfering with the synthesis of prothrombin. The specific measure is the prothrombin time. Note this may not become prolonged until 12-18 hours after ingestion. The specific antidote is Vitamin K1 (Phytomenandione BP). Antidote must be administered under medical supervision. Initially, antidote should be given by injection (10-20 mg, or 0.25 mg/kg for children, by slow intravenous infusion at a rate of 1 mg/minute. In severe cases the use of fresh frozen plasma may be required). Maintenance treatment is given orally (40 mg/day in divided doses for adults; up to 20 mg/day in divided doses for children). The prothrombin time and the hemoglobin should be monitored. Patients should be kept under medical supervision until the prothrombin time has been normal for 3 consecutive days. Oral treatment may need to be continued for several weeks. (20 mg/day in divided doses for adults, and up to 20 mg/day in divided doses for children). (For animal cases the dose is 2-5 mg/kg). SECTION 5. FIRE FIGHTING MEASURES EXTINGUISHING MEDIA: Use any means suitable for extinguishing surrounding fire. SPECIFIC HAZARDS: Avoid generating dusts. Keep out of waterways. SECTION 6. ACCIDENTAL RELEASE MEASURES Use appropriate personal protective equipment. Contain and recover material when possible. Vacuum, shovel or sweep up and place into a suitable container for reclamation or disposal using a method that does not generate dust. Dispose of in accordance with applicable local regulations. Do not flush to sewer. SECTION 7. HANDLING AND STORAGE HANDLING: Use this product only in a manner consistent with its labeling. Take precautions to avoid contact with skin, eyes, and clothing. Do not contaminate water, food or feedstuffs by storage, handling, or disposal. All handlers (including applicators) must wear long pants, shoes, socks and barrier laminate gloves. Any person who retrieves carcasses or unused bait following application of this product must wear barrier laminate gloves. Do not handle the product near food, animal foodstuffs, or drinking water. Wash hands after handling the product and dead rodents. STORAGE: Store only in original container, in a dry place inaccessible to children and pets. Store away from food and pet-food. Keep away from other chemicals. Emptied containers may retain product residues. Do not reuse empty container. SECTION 8. EXPOSURE CONTROLS/PERSONAL PROTECTION ENGINEERING CONTROLS: No special controls indicated. Eye Protection: No special requirements for normal handling. Skin Protection: Any person who reloads bait into the station, or retrieves carcasses or unused bait following application of this product must wear water-proof/barrier gloves. Wash hands immediately after any of these activities. Respiratory Protection: No special requirements. When using do not eat, drink or smoke. Regular cleaning of equipment, work area and clothing is recommended. SECTION 9. Dogs, cats and other predatory and scavenging mammals and birds might be poisoned if they feed upon animals that have eaten the bait. Carefully follow label cautions and directions to reduce hazards to children, pets and non-target wildlife. Do not discharge effluent containing this product directly to water. SECTION 13. DISPOSAL CONSIDERATIONS Do not contaminate water, food or feed by storage or disposal. The product package is a non-refillable container. The bait station may be opened and re-filled as described on the product label directions for use. If container or bait station is empty, place in trash or offer for recycling if available. If container or bait station is partly filled: Call your local solid waste agency for disposal instructions. Never place unused product down any indoor or outdoor drain.
