Speakers Dr Andrew Dowson Dr Linda Damian Dr Alex Valori Dr Andrew Dowson is the Director of the NHS King s Headache Service at King s College Hospital, London. He qualified in medicine in 1984 and worked as a GP for several years before becoming a specialist in headache. He is Chairman of Migraine in Primary Care Advisors, a charity which promotes headache management in primary care, and of international organisation Headache Care for Practising Clinicians a group of similar organisations from around the world. Dr Dowson is also Chairman of Migraine Action s Medical Advisory Board. Dr Linda Damian completed her specialist training in Neurology in Germany, 1992. After living in Australia for a few years she moved to England with her family and started working as a Neurologist in Leicester. She then took up a post as a Consultant for Shrewsbury and Telford Hospitals Trust, where she established a specialist headache clinic. Since November 2013, she has been working as the Headache Consultant Neurologist at the Norfolk and Norwich University Hospital, where she runs a weekly headache clinic and once monthly Botox clinic for chronic migraine. Dr Alex Valori has run the Migraine Clinic at Norwich for 25 years. Having entered General Practice after a grounding in Surgery & Orthopaedics, he became aware of the number of patients with unresolved Headache syndromes that could not find an explanation or treatment from any specialty. In researching potential mechanisms of pain generation in Migraine and other Headaches he has formed a classification of Suboccipital Vectors in the neck, and designed treatments to address the pain pathways. He has been a longstanding member of BASH and has served on the Council.
