Parent News The BMSS Newsletter will now be sent at the FIRST of each month; you will no longer receive a weekly report. Please refer to our BMSS website (CLICK HERE!) for pertinent school information and organizational pages (KBSN Charger Broadcasts, Athletics & Weekly Calendars, Counseling & Librarian pages, PTO Links, and more). We would also encourage parents to discuss with their child any school announcements or activities that are sent home or discussed during the school day. BMSS will continue to send out emails, tweets, and posts regarding immediate or relevant info to the community. CHS Homecoming is October 12 th. YES! Your child may wear a homecoming mum to school that day, as long as it fits the following criteria: A single mum that is worn, not carried, when the student arrives to school Noise makers are taped up to prevent classroom distractions NO deliveries of mums will be made In honor of October being breast cancer awareness month, the Health and Wellness Committee has declared Thursday, October 11 th, as Breast Cancer Awareness Day. Everyone is invited to wear pink! Please encourage your students to wear Pink as well. It will be the last home game for the volleyball teams and they will be wearing pink for their game and hopefully, the stands will be a sea of pink. Let s turn our school PINK! Put it on your calendar! THINK PINK!
Families, BMSS is always striving to provide good customer service. You will notice in several areas of the campus these posters asking for feedback. If you wish to leave a comment, please use the QR code link to do so. We would love to hear from you and be able to recognize those doing a great job of serving our families! Family Access Online Registration Form Required for ALL STUDENTS. Parents-PLEASE complete the online registration form in Family Access. These are beginning of the year forms that are required for all students. Please click on the Online Registration Tile to complete the forms. You may contact Mrs. Solomon melanie.solomon@boerneisd.net if you need the family access email resent to you. (Example tiles below) The Technology Services team has been able to activate a new feature in Skyward Family Access for our parents and guardians. They now have the ability to email their students teachers through the Family Access app and website. This is a feature parents have enjoyed in the past and we have worked to have this functional in our new system. When parent s login to Family Access, they will have the same features as before. When they click on one of their student s teachers, the email address will display below the teacher name where they can click, and an email window will automatically populate. This is available in several tiles Grades, Attendance, etc. BMSS will be hosting our Annual Veterans Day Ceremony on November 12, 2018. Below is some information needed that will help make our Ceremony special to BMSS students and their families. During the Veteran s Day Ceremony, we will be displaying a Slideshow of pictures of student's family members who have served or are currently serving in our military. Please e-mail a picture or pictures of your family members you would like included in the slideshow to denise.nipper@boerneisd.net. Please include branch, rank and relation to student here at BMSS. We need to have all pictures by November 2, 2018, to ensure they will be included in the slide show. Thank you!! Spinal Screening: November 13 th & 14 th for 7 th grade girls. See letter below. Boerne Charger Orchestra Parent Organization will be meeting on Tuesday, October 9 th, at 7:00 p.m. in the CHS library. Any orchestra parent or student is welcome!
BMSS Chess Club to begin in November. It provides the opportunity to learn to concentrate and think logically while having fun with your peers. Students work hard to overcome obstacles, spot patterns and categorize information. Chess club will meet on Thursdays starting November 1st in Mrs. Hobby s room (B214) at 8 AM From Our PTO: Thanks to everyone for a successful Chick-Fil-A Day! The kids loved it and we couldn t have done it without our wonderful parent volunteers and donations. Next Chick-Fil-A Days: January 18 and March 22! The October PTO Meeting will be Tuesday, October 16 at 9:00am in the BMSS Library. www.bmsspto.com Your Support Matters! From the Yearbook Adviser Parents, we know some of you will be taking some amazing photos of your students while attending BMSS Events and Games. We would love for you to share some of your images with our Yearbook Staff. For public upload & image share, you can submit directly to your yearbook team from any computer, it s easy. To send photos directly from your smartphone, download the Balfour Image Share App, set up your own password, and use the same project # to share your photos. Red Ribbon Week Planning Ahead - October 22nd 26 th! Designated Themes: Monday 10-22 Rally in Red against drugs and bullying. Wear Red to help kick off RED RIBBON WEEK.
Tuesday 10-23 Drug Free from your head to your toes! Wear crazy hat/hair and crazy socks! (You must still be in dress code) Wednesday 10-24 Too smart, to start! Come dressed for success. What does SMART look like to you? Thursday 10-25 Help fight the war on drugs and bullying. Wear Camo. Friday 10-26 Team up against drugs and bullying! Wear your favorite team jersey / shirt.
