Congrats! You decided to lead a team to fight cancer one mile at a time. Now what? Coordinating a team is going to be an awesome experience, but you may have some questions. Don t worry, we ve got your back! The following will give you the info and tools you need to help get you started. f Sign Up your Team Recruit Veteran Team Members Draft Rookie Team Members Recruit Visit soleburner.org/madisonwi to register your team. Email past team members and other family, friends and co-workers through our website or your own personal email account and ask them to join your team. If a team member does not wish to register online, they can contact Camilla at 608-662-7548 or they can fill out a paper form. Publicize the event by distributing information throughout your office, school church, etc. Plan Team Fundraisers Utilize Online Tools Encourage Individual Fundraising Fundraise Email and post regularly on Social media to ask your family and friends to join your team and support your fundraising efforts. Download our American Cancer Society Fundraising app to collect check and credit card donations on the go. Utilize ACS fundraising resources such as dollar cards, bracelets and dress down stickers. Challenge team members to participate in our $100 challenge and online challenges. Be sure to recognize those who meet their goal! Check out our website for resources and ideas.

Motivate Challenge Personalize Update Personalize your team and individual fundraising pages with pictures and your motivation for supporting the fight against cancer. Set a team goal and send your team weekly updates on your progress. See an email from me about an upcoming online challenge? Personally reach out, encourage, and challenge your team to participate! Remind team members about the $100 fundraising goal and send updates on who has reached their goal. 2017 SOLE BURNER REGISTRATION INSTRUCTIONS JOIN OUR TEAM! Follow the step-by step directions below to sign up to join the (TEAM NAME) team. STEP 1 - Visit www.soleburner.org, click register, log in and select which event you want to participate in. STEP 2 Complete the requested registration information

STEP 3 Choose JOIN A GROUP, type (TEAM NAME) and then select (TEAM NAME) STEP 4 Choose an event t-shirt, if you would like to make a donation, or purchase a tribute star.

STEP 5 IMPORTANT! Join your fundraising team! Choose YES, JOIN EXISTING FUNDRAISING TEAM, enter (TEAM NAME) STEP 6 Register additional people by selecting add new entry or finish and submit your payment. You will receive an email confirmation receipt of your registration from ChronoTrack. IMPORTANT NOTES! If you would like a fundraising page automatically created for the person(s) you are registering EACH PERSON MUST REGISTER WITH A UNIUQE EMAIL ADDRESS! FAQ s What happens with the money raised from the Sole Burner Walk/Run/Ride? Funds raised through the American Cancer Society Road America Walk/Run support the American Cancer Society s mission to end cancer. Specifically, these dollars are used to make a difference by funding critical research, educating people on prevention and early detection, and providing free information and services to help people facing cancer today-including transportation, lodging, wigs, support programs and more. What is my Society Account? A society account is tied to the American Cancer Society participant access. You will not need a society account for the 2017 Sole Burner; however, if you go to cancer.org, there are a lot of volunteer resources including mission information and fundraising ideas. Can our company be invoiced for our team participants? Yes, we can assign a discount code for your company participants to use and invoice your company after the event. Can I register multiple people on my team? Only if you have separate email addresses for each participant. Each participant s account needs to be tied to a separate email address. If you would like to do a mass upload of participants, send an email to camilla.jackson@cancer.org to get the offline team registration form. I registered other people for the Walk/Run/Ride but I don t see their names on our team roster. This year we are using a dual registration platform for Sole Burner to maximize on the great partnership between chronotrack and crowdrise. When you initially register at soleburner.org you are directed to chronotrack, which is the Athlinks, race registration page. While registering, you will be prompted Would you like to start a personalized fundraising page? For those who click yes, they will be re-directed to crowdrise, which is our fundraising platform. This is where team captains can communicate with team members. If you are not seeing a team member on your team page, it is because they declined a personalized fundraising page when fundraising. To rectify this: 1. Have the individual go to their team page and there should be a button that says "ALREADY REGISTERED? CLICK HERE TO SET UP YOUR FUNDRAISER" 2. If they are not part of a team or are not able to do it themselves, have them email camilla.jackson@cancer.org for assistance. What should I do if I raise funds offline? You may send collected cash/checks to the American Cancer Society office in Green Bay. Please be sure to include your team and name so we can credit properly. You can also contact Kristen to submit a credit card payment over the phone. Is my registration fee tax deductible? Yes, tax deductible to the full extent of the law. When you register online you will receive a confirmation e-mail that serves as your receipt for tax purposes. When registering by mail or in person, your cancelled check serves as your receipt. SOLE BURNER SCHEDULE OF EVENTS This 30-year-old event is moving to Fitchburg, a recipient of the Bicycle Friendly Community award, to accommodate for the exciting new changes for 2017. This year we hope you will join us for a 50K supported Bike Ride, a 3 Mile Family-Fun Ride, a 5K Run/Walk, a 1K Kids Run, and a Diaper Dash for infants. Whether you re walking, running, or biking, we cannot wait to see you at McKee Farms Park for a weekend of live music, food trucks, kids entertainment, prize giveaways, and more! The event is open to all ages and abilities, so grab a helmet, a picnic blanket, and your favorite shoes, and join us for this community event benefiting the American Cancer Society.
