Motion to Approve 50/50 raffle: 1 st : Gregg S. 2 nd : Connie K. D5 Report: Reported by Jared Smith MN Hockey District 5 Board meeting notes (12/6/17): Secretary Report: *Make sure you check the D5 website the reports are updated on there *Make sure association knows what s happening in the district (and vis versa) Treasurer s report: Coach in Chief report: -Dec 31st coaches need to be approved; don t want to be redlined! Officials report: - less officials in our district than historically Girls coordinator: -no report District director report: 1.) Game sheet reporting procedure: a. Report on time b. Game sheet policy enforcement began Dec. 1 st. c. League coordinator Bill Breeden contact info in handbook page 12 2.) District directors met in Dec. a. Concussion protocol; some tweaks in off season; President should send concussion form to Steve as you receive them vs. not all at once. b. School waivers; director doesn t need to sign anymore c. Redistricting; committee was formed, nothing will happen for next year d. U19 players needed; if we know of girls in area that want to play at this level, can form a D5 team 3.) Coaches CEP a. Triple check everyone 4.) Rosters locked on Dec 31 st (couple day flex from district if needed) a. Think ahead if any teams want to make a tweak to the rosters 5.) BIGGEST TAKEAWAY FROM MEETING: ONE TEAM AT A LEVEL AND LEVEL OF PLAY a. We need to show leadership to our coaches, parents and players. There are associations (and leaders in associations) in our district that are gaining a bad reputation due to their non-stop complaining about issues; the biggest issue-- level of play (should this team be an A team vs a B team, etc.). b. Internal policy within the SCYHA (?): no contacting the D5 president or director with issues about where teams should play or where you think teams should be playing. Set the expectations and explain to parents and coaches that there will time throughout the year that we might get mopped up but we are growing and developing for next year c. Be aware of the situation and just communicate with our coaches and parents to not bitch to director or presidents. d. STMA and Willmar are the problem children Association Update: *is there anything I need to bring to next D5 meeting from SCYHA board? Age Level Coordinator Reports: o Jr. Mites/Mites: 26 moms had their first annual Mom s Night Out with Pallet painting and wine.

Jamboree will be in two weeks. Old Business: Hockey Day MN 2018: They are still gathering the final amounts but the event did get over $400,000 in sponsorships. How to bridget Mite-Squirts: we will table this for a bit yet. A possible email to parents and more communication on the website is the idea at this time. New Business: Team Projections for 18/19-please bring to the next meeting. BOD positions for 18/19-please let Mike know if you will be coming back or not for next season. Open EB positions-vp and Treasurer-Jeff Hess and Sara Yurczyk Open Forum: We will host the State PW s and Bantam tournaments- March 16, 17 and 18. There will be plenty of volunteer opportunities. Announcements: o Next BOD Meeting: Wednesday, March 21 st, 2018 at Pesty s at 8pm. Adjournment: 1 st : Connie K. 2 nd : Kurt M.
