About the Meeting Musculoskeletal imaging is essential to all of sports medicine. During this program a multidisciplinary faculty will place emphasis on imaging in sports medicine with discussions of how imaging can impact patient management. General how-to sessions on joint imaging will lead into more detailed imaging techniques including an arthroscopic and orthopedic surgery correlation. has been chosen to provide a well rounded multidisciplinary review of sports medicine imaging, surgical techniques and treatment options. Target Audience This program is designed to educate radiologists, orthopedic surgeons, sports medicine physicians, and referring physicians who order musculoskeletal MRI studies. MR technologists and certified athletic trainers should also find this meeting beneficial. According to the education levels described by the CEC Committee of NATA, the following continuing education course is considered to be Mastery Level for Certified Athletic Trainers. EDUCATIONAL OBJECTIVES Registrants should, at the completion of this course, be able to: Incorporate state of the art sequences and protocols for a variety of sports related injury into clinical practice. Assess patients with joint pathology in a non-invasive manner utilizing MRI. Recognize the strengths and limitations of MRI for the management of sports related injuries. Describe the MR appearance of common musculoskeletal pathology and differentiate this pathology from other causes of abnormal signal. Correlate surgical arthroscopic and MR image findings of various sports injuries. Demonstrate an increased knowledge of surgical procedures as they relate to various sports injury and the impact MR imaging has on patient management.
