I. GENERAL REQUIREMENTS 1.1 According to the study, each graduate of the faculty of dentistry must defend a qualifying diploma thesis on specialty "Dentistry". 1.2 Diploma theses are written at specialized departments at the Faculty of Dentistry: Dental Implants Propaedeutics, Dentistry Orthopaedic Surgery, OMF and oral implantology, surgery OMF, OMF pediatric surgery, Pedodontics and Orthodontics. 1.3 Diploma theses subjects are proposed by the specialized departments, are discussed and recommended to be confirmed on the Scientific Council of the Faculty of Dentistry. 1.4 Theses subjects can also be complex and written at two or more departments in the field or in cooperation with other departments of the Medical University "Nicolae Testemitanu". 1.5 Scientific advisors of diploma theses are proposed by the profile (basic) department and approved at the Dental Faculty Council. 1.6 Diploma theses can be of clinical, experimental and theoretical character. II. THE OBJECTIVE OF DIPLOMA THESIS IMPLEMENTATION further development of practical skills for creative work and contribution to the acquisition of scientific research methods in dentistry; systematisation and theoretical knowledge in profession, the use of scientific knowledge in practical problems, diagnosis, treatment and prevention of dental diseases; assessment of capacity and preparedness of graduates for individual postgraduate work. III. DIPLOMA THESIS REQUIREMENTS 3.1. Diploma thesis is written in accordance with the requirements provided for scientific theses and reflects the preparedness of graduates not only the topic, but also the ability to reflect in written form their knowledge and findings 3.2. The number of pages should be 30-50 pages (excluding annexes). 3.3. The text is typed on a typewriter or computer on A-4 size sheets and placed on the page with 1.5 intervals between lines, leaving the margins of 20 mm on right and 30 mm on left, 25 mm on the top and 20 mm at the bottom of the sheet and using lock 14. Text printing is not allowed on the back page.
3.4. Names of chapters are written in capital letters and numbered with Roman numerals (I, II). Subsections are written in lower case and numbered with Arabic numerals 1.1, 2.2, etc.). 3.5. Table name is written in the middle of the line in capital letter,without a dot after the name. On the right side above table name the word table ("Table 2.10") with numeracy, chapter and serial number of the table in the text of the relevant chapter should be written. 3.6. The thesis can be illustrated with diagrams, drawings, photographs, charts, etc. Their name must be written under the picture and begin with the word "Figure, ("Fig.2.1."), with corresponding number of the figure in the chapter, number and serial number of the figure in the text of each chapter. 3.7. Each chapter and introduction, bibliography and appendix must begin on a new page. Pages are numbered at the top and in the middle of the page, according to the list of bibliographic sources; a reference is made to the source of each text, the appropriate number must be written in square brackets [2], [5], [10], [32]. 3.8. The title is written according to the example shown in the Appendix 1. 3.9. The conclusions of the diploma thesis must be written at the end. 3.10.Bibliography must be written at the end of the thesis in alphabetical order beginning with the sources written in the Latin script and then in the Cyrillic one (see Appendix 2). IV. DIPLOMA THESIS STRUCTURE The structure depends on the character of diploma thesis theme and contents of the research, but there is a number of general structural elements: Table of Contents; Introduction (Novelty, actuality of the theme, relevance of the work, goal and objectives); analysis of the literature on the theme mentioned in the bibliography section; objects and methods of research; the personal, experimental, clinical and theoretical parts; general conclusions; bibliography (not more than 30 sources); appendices (if necessary). The Table of Contents includes all the components of the diploma thesis. Chapter and subchapter names must match exactly the ones in the text. The page number (in arabic numerals) must be written on the right of each point of the contents. The Introduction must include: well-reasoned up-to-dateness of the theme; appreciated objectives of the research;
a brief describing of objects and methods of the research; a conclusion drawn from the literature review of the described theme; materials used in the scientific research; the expected results of the investigations. The introduction volume should not exceed 5 pages. In the bibliographic analysis" of the theme the highlights of the research are systematized and analyzed. The topic of the thesis must be argued. The achievements and unsolved issues must be indicated here. The volume should not exceed 10 pages. In the chapter "Objects and methods of analysis" the objects taken for research must be described and their selection principle must be reasoned. The methods used in research must be descibed as well. The volume should not exceed 5 pages. The "Personal Part" is to describe the results and their analysis, statistical data processing. The results are written in tables and illustrated with drawings, charts, photographs, etc.. Diploma thesis ends with conclusions and suggestions for their implementation in dental practice. Conclusions should play the main results of research, they show how the goal of the research was implemented. In "Appendices" different materials (treatment schemes, observation sheets, surveys, questionnaires and so on, prepared to complete diploma thesis) can be presented V. ASSESSMENT OF DIPLOMA THESIS After typing the diploma thesis it must be covered and a copy with attached reference letter from the experts in the field must be submitted to the State Examination Board together with an extract from the minutes of the meeting of the department where the thesis was prepared. The report must be presented to the members of the state Examination Board within 10 minutes, it must include the main results of the research along with demonstration handouts, slides, Power Point presentation, etc. Thesis and report are appreciated by 10 point system.

ALGORITHM to complex State Exam for Vth year students of the Faculty of Dentistry, 1. Name of diseases, classification, diagnosis. 2. Etiology. 3. Pathogenesis. 4. Clinical picture. 5. Diagnostics (radiographic morphology) 6. Differential diagnosis. 7. Emergency treatment. 8. Conservative treatment. 9. Surgical treatment. 10. Complex treatment. 11. Prevention. Appendix1 Note: Specifying answers to these compartments will be further explained in specialized departments. Oral test contains 60 questions each from dentistry, pediatric oral diseases prevention, dental orthopedic and oral and maxillofacial surgery. An examination card contains 4 complex questions, composed in such a way to allow to check practical understanding, evidence-based treatment, analytical skills, as well as current and classic works of literature. All questions must be assessed proceeding from 10 points x the coefficient... The final grade is the sum of points that accumulate points of practical examination, diploma thesis, test control, complex oral exam.
