About Campus Curlz Founded by two college sophomores, Nia Wellman and Kiyanna Monroe at Hampton University in January of 2017. The two shared a vision to unite like minded individuals who share a common interest in the diversity of natural hair and a love for service in their surrounding community. Our Mission: Campus Curlz is a natural hair and service based organization whose goals are to enhance, educate, and uplift those on campus and the community through educational support and service.

Executive Board Positions Curl Ambassador: Curl Ambassador duties include, but are not limited to representing and completely advocating for Campus Curlz in a positive manner, and help to increase Campus Curlz awareness on campus and in the community. The Curl Ambassador also takes the role of the president and overseer of the specific Campus Curlz chapter, and will ensure that all committees and operations run effectively. 2 nd Curl Ambassador: Like the Curl Ambassador, 2 nd Curl Ambassador will represent and completely advocate for Campus Curlz on campus and in the community, but will also take the responsibility of Curl Ambassador when she/he isn t present. Also, all committee chair s will report to the 2 nd Curl Ambassador with monthly reports about the operations of their committees. 2 nd Curl Ambassador will ensure that a detailed monthly report is sent to CampusCurlzz@gmail.com
Executive Board Positions Secretary: Ensures meetings are effectively planned and organized. Records minutes for all meetings. Reports pertinent information to members who were absent from meetings. Keeps up-to-date contact details on all members, executive board members and volunteers. Calls attention to Curl Ambassador and or 2 nd Curl Ambassador of any unfinished business from past meetings. Fundraising Chair: Plans and organizes fundraising events for Campus Curlz. Creates at least 10 fundraising proposals for the school year. Treasurer: Keeps record of all club money and receipts. Informs the Curl Ambassador of any money requests needed by the club.
Executive Board Positions Event Coordinator: Creates and plans for all club activities including dorm chats, social mixers, panel discussions and anything innovative to attract new club members. Contacts companies in regard to possible sponsorships for events. Creates at least 15 event proposals for the semester. to the 2 nd Curl Ambassador. Ensures all triplicates/paperwork are created and turned into administration 21 days before future events. Community Service Chair: Contact volunteer coordinators at nonprofit organizations, schools, or any approved place to volunteer. Creates at least 15 community service event proposals for the semester to the 2 nd Curl Ambassador. Upon board approval of community service opportunities, and by the direction of the 2 nd Curl Ambassador, the community service chair will plan the community service event.
Executive Board Positions PR/Marketing Chair: Announces all club activities on social media. Creates campus awareness for events. Handles all social media accounts, creates flyers, promotional material etc. Implements Campus Curlz Cutie, Hair Tip Tuesday, or any other fun social media initiatives. Historian: Keep a record of the specific Campus Curlz chapter s accomplishments and activities for the year. Collect items such as pictures, videos and articles about Campus Curlz and its members. Organizes a scrapbook to tell the club's story for the year.
Campus Curlz Membership Requirements Campus Curlz members are chosen through an application and interview process during the first semester of the academic school year. Members must be students at the university, have paid dues and complete 20 hours of community service or more per semester. Campus Curlz offers equal opportunities to all applicants despite race, sex, handicap, age, sexual orientation, or political or religious affiliation.

Community Service Events Because we are a service based organization, service is definitely extremely important. We ask that all chapters are offering our organization's services to a local nonprofit or organization in need of volunteers on a frequent basis. As well as form strong bonds and connections with those who we serve as well. Examples of community service events include but are not limited to: Volunteering at a local Soup Kitchen Volunteering at an elderly home Volunteering at a domestic abuse survivor shelter Mentoring at an elementary, middle or high school Tutoring at an elementary, middle or high school Marathons for a cause *Please take pictures and videos, and log attendance at all events
Educational Events Campus Curlz is dedicated to raising awareness about the diversity of natural hair, women empowerment, financial literacy and more.. Examples of educational events include but are not limited to: Style Parties: Where we demonstrate hairstyles and encourage those who attend to style their hair as well Natural Hair: Inside and Out: An informational session about natural hair, healthy hair tips and being natural from within Dorm chats: Topics can include hair tips, college tips, financial tips, healthy lifestyle tips Tabling events: If you school has a specific day and time students gather around and share information about clubs, business and more this would be a great time to spread the word about Campus Curlz and even a brand that we are working with! *Please take pictures and videos, and log attendance at all events
Social Events Social events are events that Campus Curlz host that allows members, potential members and students to simply have fun. These events do not necessarily have to be natural hair or service related. Examples of social events include but are not limited to: Ice Cream Social Skate Night Campus Curlz Cookout Dorm Chats Open mics We also like to host bonding events solely for Campus Curlz members to better familiarize themselves with each other all while having some fun! Examples of bonding events include but are not limited to: Taco night Bonfires Movie night *Please take pictures and videos, and log attendance at all events
Fundraising Events No organization can run without funds, therefore fundraising is crucial to cover any cost for future events or donations that your chapter might want to contribute. Examples of fundraising events include but are not limited to: Campus Curlz Car Wash Paint and Sips Bake Sale Rita s Italian Ice Sale Hair Product Raffle *Please take pictures and videos, and log attendance at all events
Annual/Universal Events Annual and universal events are events that each chapter will host, following the same name, theme and goals. If you are interested in creating an annual or universal event please email suggestions to campuscurlzz@gmail.com Brand Like A Girl-A panel discussion highlighting how women at your college/university and or city effectively brand themselves in their field. Natural Hair: Inside and Out-An informational session about natural hair, healthy hair tips and being natural from within.

Sponsorships Info Sponsorships from a well respected brand can add value points to any event. Don t be shy to reach out to a company s PR staff to land product goodies or to a local restaurant or bakery for food for an event.
