treated with ordinary skin salves. Contains aromatic hydrocarbons that can produce severe pneumonitis or pulmonary oedema if aspirated during vomiting. Consider gastric lavage with endotracheal tube in place. Treat symptomatically with supportive care. Refer to the material safety data sheet, if necessary. DIRECTIONS FOR USE: USE ONLY AS DIRECTED For use by Pest Control Operators registered in terms of Act no. 36 of 1947 only and in accordance with SAN Code of Practice 0124 Use BIFLEX TC to prevent and control subterranean wood destroying termite infestations in and around buildings and timber installations such as telephone poles and fences. Spray a BIFLEX TC emulsion onto the soil surface or inject it into the soil under buildings to form a treated barrier between the timber and the subterranean termites in the soil. Mixing Instructions: BIFLEX TC should be thoroughly mixed with clean water and agitated during mixing and spraying. Prepare an emulsion by mixing 12 ml BIFLEX TC in 5 litres of clean water to give a 0.06 % active ingredient concentration (add 240 ml BIFLEX TC to 100 litres of clean water). Dosage Rates: When treating soil before or after construction, spray BIFLEX TC at the rate of 12 ml BIFLEX TC in 5 litres water per sq m or per linear m to ensure through and complete cover of the area to be treated. When treating clay or compacted soil surfaces and/or where run-off of the spray emulsion is to be avoided, use the rate of 12 ml BIFLEX TC in 2.5 litres water per square m or per linear meter. To prevent run-off, do not apply to very wet or waterlogged soils. If possible, soil surfaces should be sloped and drain away from the treated site. Avoid disturbance of the treated surface. APPLICATION INFORMATION: Prior to construction: Apply the diluted BIFLEX TC spray emulsion as an overall drench to the soil of the under-floor area, ensuring thorough treatment of piping and electrical cable entry points, and to the bottom and sides of foundation and service trenches as well as to the bottom of holes for piles and timber poles at the rate of 5.0 l/ sq m or linear m. Trenches for sewers, water pipes and electrical cables must be treated for their full length within the building. On compacted soils where excessive water run-off could occur, apply the BIFLEX TC spray emulsion as recommended above under Dosage Rates. If heavy rainfall occurs (over 15 mm) within 24 hours of application, it will be necessary to retreat the area unless the treated area has been adequately protected (e.g. with a plastic cover). Soil must be treated before concrete floor slabs are constructed. For suspended floors, a crawl space of at least 45 cm must be provided between the soil surface and floor support beams. The soil surface and enclosing wall surfaces must be treated before the suspended floor is laid. To indicate that the soil has been treated with BIFLEX TC, a durable sign inscribed with Danger Poisoned soil and the date shall be placed at the entrance to the crawl space. Approved corrected Dec 04 Page 3 of 7
Existing buildings: It is recommended that the outside of the foundation walls be trenched (about 15 cm wide) and treated at the rate of 5.0 l of BIFLEX TC spray emulsion per linear m per 30 cm depth. After application, ensure that the trench is refilled with treated soil. To treat soil under solid floors, drill holes at regular intervals (30 cm) through the floor adjacent to the foundation walls and thoroughly drench the soil with the BIFLEX TC spray emulsion at 100 l per cubic m soil per 30 cm depth. Holes in the floor should be at 30 cm intervals to ensure that a continual insecticide barrier in the soil is achieved. If the design of the building is such that vertical holes are not feasible, horizontal holes from the outside should be drilled at 30 cm intervals through the foundation walls to the area underneath the floor enabling the soil to be treated. Take care to avoid pipes and cables when drilling holes. Holes must be effectively sealed afterwards. Suspended floors: The entire soil surface under the floor should be treated via the crawl space. Where the crawl space is inadequate, holes should be drilled in the floor as described above to ensure a thorough covering of the under-floor area. The holes must be sealed after application. Timber constructions: Such as telephone and fence poles and garden huts, can be protected by treating the soil around the base with the BIFLEX TC spray emulsion at 5.0 l per sq m per 30 cm soil depth. Apply to a depth of 15 cm below the bottom of the pole in the soil. Approved corrected Dec 04 Page 4 of 7

Op klei of n gekompakteerde grondoppervlakke of waar spuitstofafloop vermy moet word, word BIFLEX TC teen 12 ml per 2.5 l water per vierkante meter of per liniêre meter gespuit. Approved corrected Dec 04 Page 6 of 7
Approved corrected Dec 04 Page 7 of 7
