Product Information PREVENTOL A 12-TK 50 Manufacturing use fungicide for formulation of preservatives for wood and other materials PREVENTOL is a registered trademark of LANXESS Deutschland GmbH. Page 1 of 6: This document contains important information and must be read in its entirety. 1/6

Overview PREVENTOL A 12-TK 50 is for the manufacture of aqueous and solvent formulations for preservation of wood composites, wood in above-ground and in-ground applications, leather, films, glues, adhesives, and metalworking fluids. Chemical and Physical Data Active ingredient: Chemical Name: Product description: approx. 50 % Propiconazole (+/-)-(cis+trans)-1-[(2-(2,4-dichlorophenyl)-4-propyl- 1,3-dioxolan-2-yl)-methyl]-1H-1,2,4-triazole yellow to brown clear liquid Characteristic data* Density (20 C): 1.09-1.13 g/cm 3 Vapor pressure (25 C): 5.6 x 10-3 hpa Boiling point / boiling range: 187-192 C Flash point: 63 C *Characteristic data are provided as general information only. They are approximate values and are not considered part of the product specification. Page 2 of 6: This document contains important information and must be read in its entirety. 2/6

Solubility of active ingredient (20 C, % by weight) Propylene glycol > 50 2-propanol > 50 Ethylene glycol 26 White spirit (30 % aromatic content as xylene) > 10 Hexane approx. 4.7 Water approx. 100 ppm Solubility data are provided as general information only. They are approximate values and are not considered part of the product specification. Applications Provides effective protection against rotting fungi and wood discoloring fungi, including wood-rotting basidiomycetes strains. Compatible with many species of wood, including Ponderosa pine, Scot s pine, Southern Yellow Pine, beech, oak, birch, and other species of wood susceptible to wood rotting fungi. Formulation of solvent and water based preservatives for wood and wood composites, including waferboard, oriented-strand board, plywood and fiberboard. Formulation of in-ground and above ground wood preservatives. Above ground applications include millwork, wood stains for siding, lumber, plywood, particleboard, decks, and wood furniture. In-ground applications include pilings, utility poles, fence posts and various building materials. A higher addition rate is recommended for in-ground applications. Formulation of glues and adhesive formulations to preserve the pre-application product, wet stage, and dry film from fungal attack. Formulation of aqueous-based metalworking, cutting, cooling and lubricating fluids for inhibition of fungal growth. As with any product, use of PREVENTOL A 12-TK 50 in a given application must be tested (including field testing, etc.) by the user in advance to determine suitability. Page 3 of 6: This document contains important information and must be read in its entirety. 3/6

Addition rates Addition rates vary depending on the addition method, the article being treated, and use of co-biocides. Stability & Compatibility Minimal water solubility prevents leaching. Low vapor pressure prevents volatilization. Heat, UV, and sunlight stable. High resistance to hydrolysis at both low and high ph values. Formulations containing PREVENTOL A 12-TK 50 are typically colorfast, although this should be tested in each individual case. Compatible with binders, pigments, driers and auxiliaries typically used in preservative formulations. Can be combined with other active ingredients such as imidacloprid (PREVENTOL TM Insecticide) and copper-based fungicides to provide a full spectrum of pest prevention. Wood and wood composites treated with PREVENTOL A 12-TK 50 formulations do not change in appearance and may be painted when dry. Shelf life If stored in a cool, dry location in the original container, the shelf life is 3 years. Packaging 220 kg drum 1100 kg IBC Page 4 of 6: This document contains important information and must be read in its entirety. 4/6

Efficacy data PREVENTOL A 12-TK 50 has a broad spectrum of activity against wood rotting fungi. Toxic values have been determined in accordance with the relevant internationally recognized standards. The values obtained from samples which have been aged artificially (e. g., EN 73, evaporative aging or EN 84, leaching) are not substantially higher than the levels recorded in samples which have not been aged.
